Provide information to faculty on potential grants 8 weeks out (min.) You’ve decided to respond to a RFP 1. Visit CCEL web site (thru SEHD site) for handbook/resources 2. Email CCEL info: Sponsor Due date RFP #, or web site, or send RFP 7 weeks out 6 weeks out 1. Obtain partner buy-in 2. Get other key personnel on-board 3. Develop goals & abstract (EC) 4. Sample letter of support (CCEL) 5. Budget (CCEL&EC) Provide Handbook to Grant Writer: List of external consultants Customized timeline Grant template Budget template, tips & protocol for budget meeting Schedule budget meeting Request appt. with RC Request appt. with EC START EARLY! Research Center can assist with: Compelling research design – meet with Nancy Leech Plan of operation Needs assessment Literature review in support of your needs assessment – approximate a 1 week turnaround. You need to give them a good idea of what you are writing about. Any other elements of a potential grant Editing START EARLY! Evaluation Center can assist with: Review/define the research & evaluation questions Producing a logic model Producing an evaluation design matrix Developing your Instruments For SEHD faculty, there is no charge for help with plan development. You will need to consult the EC to determine the price of their services for your grant budget. 1. Help set up for esubmission, if needed (coordinate w/SP) 2. Develop budget – CCEL help varies according to need: Help constructing budget Calculate salary & benefit figures Budget review 3. Assist w/appendices if needed: Collect CVs Distribute, collect & track support letters 4. Assist with word processing, if needed (coordinate with RC) 5 weeks out 6. Develop plan of operation (EC) 7. Significance (RC) 8. Evaluation (EC) 4 weeks out 9. Capacity (CCEL) 10. Other sections 11. Set series of appts. w/RC for editing 3 weeks out 1. Make plans for submittal (CCEL) 2. Provide routing materials to CCEL: FINAL budget Budget narrative DRAFT proposal Subcontract(s): •Budget •Budget Narrative •Work Scope •Letter from authorized rep. 3. Fine-tune narrative Final appointments w/RC for editing 4. Make sure you know status of all sections 1. Route proposal through University approval process 2. Coordinate agency forms with SP 3. Assist with electronic or hard copy submissions (coordinate w/SP) If you require CCEL/SP assistance with submittal, WE MUST HAVE AT LEAST A DAY PRIOR TO SEND DATE TO UPLOAD E-SUBMISSION OR ASSEMBLE HARD COPIES FOR MAILING! For SEHD faculty, there is no charge for CCEL preaward services. However, you may need to budget for CCEL support in your grant budget. Consult the CCEL administrator to determine the price of CCEL services for your project. Editing services 2 weeks out Help set up for e-submission, if needed Complete agency forms Provide support letter if we are subcontractor Assist with e-submission 1 week out 2 days out 1 day out *Submission* Be sure to notify CCEL of whether you were funded or not.
