Grant Training Seminar
The Alliance for Education and Community Development, Inc. (AECD) provides Seminars for those who are in charge of writing grants or developing, implementing and evaluation new programs. This training is specifically designed for school districts, non-profits, tribal and other interested groups and organizations. Participants will learn how to write grants with greater confidence and be better prepared to address each portion of the grant application. They will learn to search for grants, decide whether or not they are eligible for the grant or have a reasonable chance of an award. Development of each portion of the grant will be discussed: partnerships, MOU/Letters of Support, Assurances, Abstract, Narrative (introduction, needs, program design, goals and objectives, implementation, management and evaluation) Attachments, Budget, etc. PARTICIPANTS WILL: • • • • • Be able to locate perspective grants and determine whether there is a reasonable chance of receiving a grant; Gain a basic understanding of each section of a grant application and its contents; Be better able to write each section of the application and have the necessary information in which to write. Be able to assemble a grant properly, and submit a completed application; and If a grant you have written is not funded, be better prepared to challenge the decision and/or write a stronger proposal the next time

The fee for this Training Seminar is $275.00 per person. This fee will also cover your admission, training materials, and handouts. We will also serve morning and afternoon snacks. A minimum of 30 participants (max. 40) is required for each trainer led session. More than one group can register to meet the minimum attendance. There will be no on-site registration. Checks and Purchase Orders only,” (We do not accept credit cards.) Presenter Dr. Linda Baldwin, is an Educational Consultant who is an enrolled member of the Brothertown Tribe and had been a teacher for over 25 years at all educational levels, elementary, middle school, high school, vocational and university levels She has been a professional grants writer for the past seven years and has worked with many different non-profit organizations including schools, districts, universities, tribes, and tribal organizations.
