“GOLF’S MOST EX CITING AMA TEUR EVENT!”

Golf industry sources indicate that there are approximately 750,000 organized golf
tournaments held in the United States each year, and that a first time charity golf
event averages only $5,000 in profit. These numbers make it very obvious that an
event must be unique, exciting, and enjoyable to succeed! WELCOME TO NATIONAL
HOLE IN ONE ASSOCIATION AND THE MILLION DOLLAR HOLE IN ONE SHOOTOUT!

Pioneered in 1984 at the Fiesta Bowl in Scottsdale, AZ, the Million Dollar Hole in One
ShootOut was created and designed to offer charities and business owners an
alternative to the typical golf event. In doing so, NHIOA created a true “golf
happening” that provides for a much larger (and excited) field of contestants, a
measurable value and promotion for local business sponsors, and ultimately a larger
net profit for the host charity. The Million Dollar Hole In One ShootOut really is
“Golf’s most exciting amateur event” and the premier WIN-WIN-WIN opportunity for
charities, businesses, and, of course, the golfers!

                                      WHAT IS IT?

The Million Dollar Hole in One ShootOut is simply a “hole in one” contest that is
conducted at a driving range over a period of several days (most often Thursday
through Sunday). A special target green is created on the range at a distance of
approximately 125 yards, and a six foot (diameter) circle is painted with golf course
marking paint around the target flag.

The event consists of three phases:

   1. Qualifying: Golfers pay $1 per ball (special multiple ball prices) over the four
day period as they attempt to hit at least one ball into the six foot circle. Each
time a golfer plays a shot into the circle, he or she earns one shot in the second
round of action, the Semi-Finals. Golfers are awarded one shot in the Semi-
Finals for EACH SHOT they hit into the circle. Up to 18 golfers may compete at
a time, as each tee position/station on the range is identified with a unique
color golf ball (for player identification). A typical ShootOut will generate
      between 120-150 Semi-Finals qualifiers.
   2. Semi-Finals: This “closest to the hole contest” consists of all golfers who have
hit at least one shot into the six foot circle over the four days of qualifying.
The qualified golfers are called to their tee station, and play a shot to the
target flag. The shots are measured (distance from leading edge of hole to
leading edge of golf ball) and recorded. Golfers with multiple balls in Semi-
Finals will have their BEST/CLOSEST measurement recorded. IT IS SUGGESTED
THAT THE TWENTY-FIVE (25) INDIVIDUAL GOLFERS CLOSEST TO THE HOLE
ADVANCE TO THE MILLION DOLLAR FINALS.
   3. Million Dollar Finals: This is where it becomes GOLF’S MOST EXITING AMATEUR
EVENT! Each Finalist is introduced to the crowd and asked to play one shot to
the Finals green from a distance of just 150 yards (135 yards for Ladies). The
Finals green features a total of nineteen (19) holes: One flag valued at
$1,000,000 for a hole in one, and eighteen (18) additional flags featuring hole
in one prizes of $10,000 (or more)! With that many holes, it looks like a piece
of Swiss cheese! The hole in one prizes are paid for EACH AND EVERY OFFICIAL
HOLE IN ONE scored in the Finals, so MULTIPLE ACES EQUAL MULTIPLE
      PAYOUTS!

                                      BENEFITS

The Million Dollar Hole in One ShootOut offers charities, businesses, and golfers so
much more than the standard one day event:

   1. Up to 1000 golfers are able to participate over the four day period (compared
to 128-144 for a tournament). This allows the charity and business to reach
this most sought after market in large numbers.
   2. A successful first year ShootOut will generate a net profit of $20,000 plus for
the charity. This is four times the average of a first time golf tournament!
   3. Businesses receive true value for their sponsorship commitment. Normal
sponsor amenities include “FREE QUALIFYING SHOT” coupons for customer
giveaway promotions, a FINALS FLAG VALUED (and insured) AT $10,000 IN
CASH, PRODUCT, OR SERVICE FOR EACH FINALS ACE ON THAT HOLE, FULL
COLOR LOGO TEE AND SCOREBOARD SIGNS, ON-SITE DISPLAY OF PRODUCT OR
SERVICE DURING EVENT, and in some cases A DESIGNATED SPOT IN THE MILLION
DOLLAR FINALS. (Use this one to recognize a special customer, employee, or
run a promotional drawing over a period of time prior to the ShootOut).
   4. The excitement of the qualifying, Semi-Finals, and Finals is a thrill for golfers
of all abilities. A chance to take a swing at a Finals green with 19 holes on it,
and knowing that a ball at the bottom of the Million Dollar hole could be a life
changing experience, make this event a must on every golfer’s agenda.
   5. The Million Dollar Hole in One ShootOut is designed to be an annual event for
the host charity or business. Organized and promoted properly the first year,
the event will be a staple on the community golf calendar and supported by
local businesses and golfers for years to come.
