Value:                                   up to $11,250 allocated over the course of the degree
Duration:                                Maximum four (4) years

NSW Sport and Recreation contributes to the social well being and health of the community by promoting a more
active lifestyle. It works with the sport and recreation industry and communities to maximise opportunities for
participation in sport and active recreation, works with other government agencies to provide integrated solutions
to community needs and supports the growth and sustainability of the sport and recreation industry.

NSW Sport and Recreation supports the commitment to Indigenous education in the area of Exercise Science and
Physical and Health Education by sponsoring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through the UOW
scholarship program. Promoting the development of Indigenous education in Exercise Science and sport will
ensure there are trained professionals who can be engaged with and by the community to provide sport and
recreation opportunities for Indigenous communities, groups and individuals and build community capacity in the
broader community well into the future.

 Criteria and Conditions:
      Applicants for the NSW Sport and Recreation Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
        o Applicants must be offered a place and intend to enrol full-time in a Bachelor Exercise Science &
            Rehabilitation, Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science) or Bachelor of Physical & Health Education at
            the University of Wollongong Campus 2010.
        o Payments are subject to recipients maintaining passing grades each semester.
        o Applicants must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

 Application Package:
      Interested students will be required to provide the following information in their application:
        o A completed Current Student Application Form. Call 1300 367 869 to have one posted to
            you or download at www.uow.edu.au/about/scholarships/currentforms/
        o A brief cover letter and resume, including two (2) referees
        o A copy of your HSC results and UOW enrolment record
        o A one page outline of how the scholarship will assist you in your studies and career ambitions
        o Please submit two copies of your completed application package.
