Author Bio
John Grant
John Grant was born in Scotland but is now a resident of the United States. He is the author of over fifty
books, both fiction and nonfiction and in a few other genres under pen names. His nonfiction includes two
standard reference works: the phenomenally successful Encyclopedia of Walt Disney’s Animated
Characters, now in its third edition, and The Encyclopedia of Fantasy, with John Clute. Among his genre
novels are the twelve books in his Legends of Lone Wolf series and, under the pen name Paul Barnett,
the ongoing series Strider’s Galaxy. A recipient of the Hugo, the World Fantasy Award, the J. Lloyd
Eaton Award, the Mythopoeic Science Fiction Society Scholarship Award, the Locus Award, and the rare
British Science Fiction Association Special Award, Grant is, when not writing, the Commissioning Editor
of Paper Tiger, the world’s leading publisher of fantasy and science fiction art books. He is married to
