Introduction
This guide seeks to provide useful information to disabled students and visitors on the accessibility and location of facilities and services on campus. The guide covers practical aspects of getting around the campus, and the location of lifts, toilets etc. The guide is available in booklet form and is available from the Student Enabling Centre MB Building, City Campus If you require this information in an alternative format, please contact the Student Enabling centre on 01902 321074 or by email on sec@wlv.ac.uk

Car Parking Information
A number of reserved parking spaces are available marked „SEC‟. These are reserved for students who have mobility issues but don‟t quite qualify under the national blue badge scheme. To register and receive a SEC permit, please contact the SEC, ext 321074 or sec@wlv.ac.uk. The next few pages will provide directions as to how to gain access to the toilets from the main entrance to each building MA from Wulfruna St. for City South Press the buzzer adjacent to the main entrance doors and security will arrange for a Caretaker to meet you at the Lift, which is situated within the car parking area off Wulfruna Street, called “Executive Parking”. Proceed from the front entrance along Wulfruna St, go past the Arena Theatre, turn first left where the parking barrier to “Executive Parking” and left again. The Caretaker will then give access via the lift to the Marble Reception. Turn right along corridor and right again. The RADAR key is available at Reception. Access from the Inner Court Yard. The disabled entrance is at the rear of MA Building through the glass doors into the area for “Goods/Inwards/Outwards, go to the right through

the doors and into the main corridor, turn right along the corridor, through the fire door and at the end of the corridor turn left up the ramp, carry on along the corridor and turn right. Keep going along the corridor to the next fire door. Through the last set of fire doors and you will find the disabled lift is on the left. Entrance Via West Yard Opposite the Civic Centre Park within the disabled spaces go towards the courtyard area, on the right you will be able to access MA Building through the main doors where Goods/Inwards/Outwards is situated, go to the right through the doors on to the main corridor, turn right along the corridor, through the fire door and at the end of the corridor turn left up the ramp, carry on along the corridor and turn right. Keep going along the corridor to the next fire door. Through the last set of fire doors and you will find the disabled lift is on the left. The toilet has a RADAR Lock which is available from Marble Reception MB Toilet – MB003 / MB003a MB Through the main door along the corridor past the Gateway Reception Down the ramp turn left and the disabled toilet is on the left

MC Toilets – MC028 / MC145 / MC244/ MC345 / MC431 MC 028 Through the main doors turn right down in the lift left out of the lift along corridor and then right 4th door on the left All other floors through the main doors and turn right. The toilets are on the right MD Learning Centre Toilets – MD114 / MD214 / MD310 / MD055 Ground Floor Through the main doors and then turn right through the fire door. Turn left and then first left the toilet is on the right All the other toilets are located at the top of the stairs. To gain access via the lift, go through the front doors of the Learning Centre and the lift is on the left hand side. 1st Floor turn right out of the lift to the fire door Turn right through the fire door, turn left past the 2nd door and the toilet is on the left. The other toilets are all in the same position on each floor level MD Students’ Union Through the Main doors and 3rd Right into the Students‟ Union. Along the corridor and the third turning on the left This toilet has a RADAR key which is available from the Students‟ Union Reception or Bar at night.

ML – School of Legal Studies Toilets – ML031 ML From the front doors this toilet is on the left. It has a RADAR Lock the key is available from the Registry Desk MN Building Toilets – MN001 MN Arthur Storer From the Main Entrance through the security on your right door and straight along the corridor. The toilet is located at the end of the corridor on your left

MX Building Toilets – MX023 and MX121 MX building- MX023 - from the main entrance straight ahead through doors adjacent to the lift and straight along the corridor. The toilet is located on the right. MX 121 – From the main entrance the lift is straight ahead, when leaving the lift, turn right and then right again, along the corridor and the toilets are on the right. 7. Fire Evacuation Procedures In the event of the need to evacuate the building: a) Do not use the lift b) Leave the building by the nearest exit c) Ask one of the fire marshals where the assembly point is d) Do not enter the building until you are told to do so by the Fire Co-ordinator On your arrival into any University building you should ascertain your evacuation route or your safe refuge. Evacuation flow chart
Can you leave the building unaided in the event of an emergency evacuation?
If Yes, Leave by the nearest available exit and make your way to the Assembly Point
If No, Make your way to your nearest available Refuge Point
Use the communication point to contact Operations Division to inform them of your whereabouts (Follow the instruction notice on the wall)
Upon speaking with Operations await further instructions
If you are informed that the evacuation is a non-emergency situation i.e. false alarm, remain where you are and await further instructions from Operations Division staff.
If you are informed that the evacuation is a REAL EMERGENCY, try to remain calm and await further instructions, this may involve evacuation from the Refuge by trained members of the Operations Team by evacuation chair. Remember that throughout the emergency you can keep in constant contact with Operations via the Communications point.
REMEMBER THAT THIS FLOW CHART IS NOT JUST APPLICABLE WHEN THE EMERGENCY ALARMS SOUND, IT COULD BE UTILISED IN OTHER SITUATIONS E.G. LIFT BREAKDOWNS

(a) Stafford St Shuttle Bus Stop for MA, MB, MC, MD When arriving at City Campus the Shuttle will stop at Stafford St in front of Buildings for MB, MC & MD. When alighting from the bus turn right towards the ring road. a) b) The entrance to MB, MC & MD is on the same side of MB. All these buildings can be accessed from this entrance. . the right, turn right follow signs for lift for the Marble Reception. To gain access from the Shuttle bus stop in Stafford St to the Arena Theatre, turn left into Wulfruna St. The Arena has an accessible entrance and disabled carparking spaces. MK building can be accessed by taking either the route; right from the bus and negotiating the ring road via traffic lights, left at the last set of lights and carry on up ramp to MK Building; or alighting the bus at Randall Lines, turn right from bus cross over Camp Street, carry on to Deanery Way, left up through gates/barrier and right through barrier to rear of MK and use the lower ground floor lift. ML/MN/MH/MX Buildings can be accessed by taking either the route; right from the bus and negotiating the ring road via traffic lights, right at the last set of lights and carry on along to ML Building, turning right at the gates and right into ML Building. MN/MH Buildings, carry on passed ML Building and left into the gates for School of Health and Legal Studies. Alternative route would be to alight at Randall Lines, when alighting the bus, turn right along North Road and left into Camp Street, MX Building is on the left, negotiate the hill to almost the top, right

turn will take you to Schools of Health and Legal Studies. 15. (b) Shuttle Bus Stops for other Campuses The shuttle bus stops in Wolverhampton outside Randall Lines and at Stafford Street opposite MA/MB Buildings at the Travel West Midlands bus stop. 16. Access routes around the campus if arriving by car (For Car Parking see list of locations and available spaces). North Campus and South Campus are signed from the ring road and A449. A449 - entering Wolverhampton at the Penn Rd Island, take the 1st exit into the Ring Road St Marks – A4150 (signposted Ring Rd, Whitchurch, TelfordA41) At Chapel Ash Island, take the 2nd Exit onto the Ring Road St Andrews A4150 (signposted Ring Road M6 (N) Stafford A449) At Waterloo Road Junction continue forward. At Stafford St Junction turn right into Stafford Street (signposted City Centre University South Turn right, then turn right again into Wulfruna Street for the Marble Reception. The Student Gateway is situated in MB Building. This is the information point for details about the University

Halls of Residence The main reception for Residential Services is situated in Lomas St. Access is via Waterloo Rd then into Oxley St and turning right from Oxley St into Lomas St. Lomas St Halls are accessed via the same route as above. North Rd Halls are accessed via Waterloo Rd, Oxley St, turn left in to North Rd and first left into the Halls complex. Randall Lines Hall is accessed via the Waterloo Rd turning left at Jack Haywood Way and turning left onto North Rd, (at the rear of Adsa). The School of Health (MH), School of Art & Design) MK, School of Legal Studies (MN) can be accessed from Waterloo Road via Jack Haywood Way and then on to Molineux Street. 17.
