The decision is final. In a year where there were no clean sweeps, the 2006 ARIA Awards voting
academy have delivered a verdict that showcases the brilliant depth of the Australian music
community.

In what is arguably the most diverse group of winners in recent history, 2006 ARIA Award winners
include WOLFMOTHER, BERNARD FANNING, ESKIMO JOE, HILLTOP HOODS, CLARE BOWDITCH, BOB
EVANS, THE VERONICAS, TV ROCK featuring SEANY B, THE AUDREYS, THE WIGGLES, HUMAN NATURE
and more.

Prog, rock n’ roll trio WOLFMOTHER have had a HUGE year both locally and abroad and have walked
away with three Awards - Best Group, Best Rock Album and Breakthrough Artist – Album - for their
internationally acclaimed self-titled debut album.

BERNARD FANNING has taken out the prestigious Album of the Year category with his phenomenally
successful solo breakout album Tea and Sympathy. He also scored a second Award on the night, taking
out the Best Male Artist category. It was also a big night for the hugely talented CLARE BOWDITCH
who has received her first ever ARIA Award win in the Best Female Artist category for her beautiful
What Was Left album.

West Australia’s favourite sons, ESKIMO JOE have won two ARIA Awards. Black Fingernails, Red Wine
has been named the Single of the Year. The band has also received the ARIA Award in the Best Music
DVD category for their self-titled long form DVD.

Hip-hop heroes HILLTOP HOODS have taken home two ARIA Awards for their hugely popular album The
Hard Road. Adelaide’s finest have won the ARIA Awards for Best Independent Release and Best Urban
Release.

TV ROCK featuring SEANY B also take home two ARIA Awards for their infectious single Flaunt It – a
song that has been a hit in club-land and beyond – in the Best Dance Release and Highest Selling
Single categories.

Two relatively new artists have each taken home their maiden ARIA Awards. In the Best Adult
Contemporary Artist, BOB EVANS has won the award for his whimsical solo album Suburban Songbook.
And in the Best Blues and Roots Album category, Adelaide outfit THE AUDREYS fought off strong
competition to take away the ARIA Award for their debut album, Between Last Night and Us.

Three other artists winning their first ever ARIA Awards are HUMAN NATURE who have walked away
with the Highest Selling Album award for their multi platinum Reach Out: The Motown Album. Also
winning their first ever ARIA Award is THE VERONICAS in the Best Pop Release category for their debut
album The Veronicas - The Secret Life Of... Sydney’s YOUTH GROUP have won their inaugural ARIA
award for Breakthrough Artist - Single for their rendition of Forever Young.
