It is autumn season; five small animals live very closely together in the earth: a grub, two worms, a beetle and a caterpillar. On some evenings they play cards together. Every day the weather turns colder. The insects show each other their supplies. Only the caterpillar doesn’t need any supplies, she requires colors, threads and dreams. Also the grub has a wonderful dream every night: in his dreams he can fly. The supply of the grub is a big tulip bulb, but he wants to show it to his friends only later, after their supplies have been consumed. After several weeks the supplies are eaten up and the grub wants to show his surprise, but the bulb has changed and seems dead. Even the caterpillar has gone away, they cannot find her in her home. The friends are very sad. Several weeks later the snow is melting away and it is springtime. The insects crawl out of their homes and they discover that the bulb has turned into a beautiful tulip. And they see a beautiful butterfly. The grub recognizes that this is the missing caterpillar. He knows that one day he will be able to fly too.

They try playing ball on some rocks – which sends the ball landing right in the middle of a big birthday cake. After sharing what’s left of the delicious cake with their friends, Mouse and Rabbit finally find the best place to play ball: the soft green lawn! A funny and tenderly illustrated touch and feel book with unusual feel materials such as wheat, soil, shimmering water surface and smooth lawn. Another delightful work by the creators of the world-known beloved characters Little Polar Bear and Little Bobo.
