PKT will represent all tourism businesses at no charge if: They are located within the City and County of Peterborough (Defined by mailing address) Approximately 20%+ of their annual business is generated by visitors who come from outside a 40 km radius They fit into the definition of a tourism business as outlined by the NAICS Code index Businesses must register with PKT annually. Registration forms are available on-line at www.thekawathas.net or through our office at 1400 Crawford Drive in Peterborough. We represent all tourism businesses in the City and County of Peterborough. 2. Not-For-Profit Tourism Business The Business/Association must be defined “Not-for-Profit” by the Income Tax Act and must adhere to the following: They are located within the City and County of Peterborough (Defined by mailing address) Approximately 20%+ of their annual business is generated by visitors who come from outside a 40 km radius They fit into the definition of a tourism business as outlined by the NAICS Code index We have a limited amount of availability for NotFor- Profit registrants at discounted rates. Once our maximum amount has been reached (annually), discounted rates will no longer be applied. This modernized approach to tourism promotion introduces improvements to better meet the needs of the regional tourism industry. Several services are now offered at no charge. A partnership buy-in program with various levels of participation is now available to reflect the needs of the industry throughout the region. Tourism operators will be able to choose from a menu of services including: travel guide advertising, website enhancement, co-operative promotions, among others. 3. Out-Of-Region Tourism Business Businesses located outside of the City and County of Peterborough may register as an Out-Of-Region Tourism Business in order to be included in PKT promotions if: Approximately 20%+ of their annual business is generated by visitors who come from outside a 40 km radius They fit into the definition of a tourism business as outlined by the NAICS Code index * A $100 partnership fee and program premiums will be implemented (see chart). * Please Note: We have applied a partnership fee for Tourism Businesses whose address is outside of Peterborough region boundaries. The reason for this fee and the fees outlined in this Services Guide are based on payment of taxes. We are supported by the taxpayers of the County and City of Peterborough and our priority is to support our region. We recognize however the significant importance of partnerships outside of our area and the importance these have to the needs and wants of visitors. Customize Your Marketing Program Regional Tourism Business Complimentary Services 1. Brochure/Business Card Displayed at VIC Not-For-Profit Tourism Business Complimentary Out-Of-Region Tourism Business Service Description Maximum 8.5” x 11”, professional looking, current brochure OR business card with complete contact info to be displayed at Visitor Information Centre. Business cards may be attached to brochure to create one promotional item. Only one promotional item per business will be displayed due to space limitations. Knowledgeable Travel Counsellors will provide visitors with referrals based on information gathered from brochures (brochures must be available), familiarization tours and personal experience. Businesses are encouraged to invite the Counsellors to their locations in order to become acquainted with the business. FAM Tours: hosting tour operators, media, event planners etc. These tours are designed according to their needs. Contact information required. Tours will be organized by PKT/GPA EDC staff. Opportunity Contact List: Information regarding business opportunities, seminars, networking, promotional opportunities to be sent to all businesses registered with PKT. Business name and contact information will be listed alphabetically on PKT’s website with a direct link to your website or email address. For enhanced PKT website options see below. No Fee No Fee 2. Live Referrals for Guests No Fee No Fee 3. Leads Program No Fee No Fee 4. Basic Website Listing No Fee No Fee Out-Of-Region partnership fee for basic services: $100 inclusive. Optional Services 5. Coupon Inventory and/or Made in Peterborough Gift Item 6. Package Peterborough Marketing Partnership Tourism businesses can supply PKT with professional looking, current coupons or non-perishable gift items to be included in conference packages, trade shows, coupon packages for regional/national promotional opportunities, gift baskets etc. Maximum size: 8.5” x 5.5”. Contact information must be included on all items. Businesses will be advised as to where their coupons and gift items are being utilized for tracking purposes. Tourism businesses are encouraged to partner with other businesses within the Peterborough region to offer cost saving packages to visitors. Partnerships will receive a free web listing with logo link, promotion through trade shows and other appropriate venues. A professional looking flyer or descriptor page must be provided to PKT. All package partners must be registered with PKT. Packages will be reviewed annually for content. No Fee No Fee No Fee No Fee Services With Fees 7. Direct Mailing Service Description In recent years, PKT has mailed out approximately 3000 packages annually to potential visitors that have contacted the Visitor Information Centre through phone calls, emails and the website. Businesses can provide PKT with up to 250 professional looking brochures (maximum size: 8.5” x 11”) to be included in category specific packages. Every package will include a copy of the PKT Travel Guide. A. Standard 49g Maximum B. Oversized 50g Minimum A. Logo Added to Basic Primary Listing B. Rotating Banner Ad on PKT Home Page – designed ad with direct link to website. Rolling banner, size restrictions will be enforced. Option is valid for one year from purchase date. Visitors will be able to access an on-line coupon directory on the PKT website. Coupons can be printed by visitors to receive incentives to visit tourism businesses. Coupons must contain contact information, have a minimum 1- year expiry date and list restrictions. The Travel Guide is the main marketing piece used to promote the region. Many opportunities are available to highlight your business within the guide including display advertising, sponsorships, coupons, listings, map locators etc. Businesses will be contacted annually at the commencement of this program. Various Ad Sizes Available PKT produces a number of maps, specialty brochures and co-op advertisements each year. You will be contacted with the program information as each opportunity arises. Various Advertising Opportunities Notes: All businesses wishing to take part in/purchase the items above must be registered with Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism. Payment of Service Options must be paid 100% in full upon registration. There will be no invoicing for the above items with the exception of the Ad/Publication options in which the partner must adhere to the sales contract. In Arrears on Payment by 30 days: All services offered by VIC will stop until payment is received in full. Invoiced items are due net 30 days of agreed sales contract date. All prices are subject to G.S.T. All prices are subject to change without notice. Please be reminded that Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism is a Not-For-Profit organization. The cost of such partnership projects covers our cost for marketing endeavours and assists us in the continued promotion and marketing of the Greater Peterborough Area. We do not have the funding capacity to support unpaid invoices.
