   • Keep in contact with your neighbours to ensure they are safe, where possible
   • Keep your yard or balcony/ patio free from clutter
   • Secure objects that are likely to cause damage. These may include outdoor
furniture, children's toys, rubbish bins and gardening equipment. Move to a safe
       location such as the garage
   • Keep well clear of fallen powerlines – contact your electricity provider.
   • Never camp in a dry creek bed when bush-walking, creek trickles can turn into
       torrents very quickly
   • Beware of potential for flash flooding
   • Avoid driving or walking through floodwaters.
   • Residents living in flood prone areas should prepare for possible floodwater
       inundation
   • If hosting an outdoor event, make sure all items including tents and marquees
       are secure
   • Do not shelter under trees.
   • Stay out of the water and away from areas exposed to surf

Residents with outdoor Christmas Lights and decorations should ensure they are
properly secured and safe.
