Scope
► Ultra-fine Grained Steels
   Phenomena, theory and processing of ultra-fine grained steels with grain size in micron or
   nano scale.

► High Performance Plain Carbon Steels
   Research and development of high strength plain carbon steel rebars, wire rods, strips and
   plates.

► Structural Alloy Steels
   Alloy design and strengthening mechanisms, fatigue and delayed fracture, and applications.

► High Strength Low Alloy Steels
   The theory and technology of microallying steel grade development and applications.

► Ultra high Strength Steels
   The development of low alloy ultra high strength steels, secondary hardening steels, and
   maraging steels.

► Stainless Steels and Heat Resistant Steels
   The development of low cost stainless steels, high nitrogen stainless steels, PH steels, heat
   resistant steels.

► Production and Manufacture Technologies
   Melting, casting, rolling, welding, heat treatment, microstructure and property evaluation,
   and processing modeling.

Format and Language
The conference will consist of plenary session, English section and Chinese section. Tentative
time schedule is as following:

Keynote and Invited papers will be arranged in the technical sessions, and 30 minutes for each
paper (25 minutes for presentation, 5minutes for discussion).
Regular papers will be involved in the Chinese section or English section, and 20 minutes for
each paper (15 minutes for presentation, 5 minutes for discussion).

► Conference Language: English.
► Those wishing to present the paper should submit the abstract (not exceed 400 words) to the
  Conference Secretariat by both fax and e-mail. The deadline for the submission of abstracts
  is January 15, 2004. Please inform the Conference Secretariat about the information below at
  the same time:

► The Conference Secretariat will send the confirmation for the receipt of the abstract to each
