successful sporting events is well advanced in their planning for the 2010 Pan
Pacific Masters Games to be held from 6 to 14 November 2010. Queensland
Events Gold Coast General Manager, Cameron Hart says that by all indications,
the 2010 Pan Pacific Masters Games will exceed all previous records in terms of
participation numbers and benefits to the tourism sector. ―The 2008 Pan Pacific
Masters Games was directly responsible for bringing 9,300 visitors to the Gold
Coast which generated approximately 59,000 visitor nights for the City, the best
result in the event‘s 12 year history‖ said Mr Hart.―We are hot off the heels of a
significant promotion at the World Masters Games recently held in Sydney and
indications are that the 2010 event will reap the rewards. ―With over 28,000
competitors from 95 countries exposed to the Gold Coast through our
promotions, its is expected the 2010 Pan Pacs will enjoy of boost of additional
participants from interstate and overseas exceeding the benefits delivered by our
2008 Games.‖ Hart added. A major feature of the Pan Pacific Masters Games is
its nightly social program allowing participants the opportunity to wind down and
relax after a day‘s competition. In 2008 the event shifted its Games Village from
