What AAA expects from schools:
You Create, Implement, and Reflect Upon Arts Integration Learning Partnerships
• Teachers identify student needs around an important learning goal • Teachers partner with a teaching artist or arts organization to focus arts strategies on important learning goals • Teachers and artists: – collect evidence of learning and reflect to adjust instruction accordingly – engage in rigorous thinking within an inquiry that connects at least one arts and one non-arts discipline – help students show their understanding in demonstrations, performances, or exhibitions of learning – include the AAA coach and students (whenever possible) in planning and reflection and reflection
Aligned and Active Methods for Improving Teacher Practice

• The Principal provides time and advocacy for AAA • The school designates a coordinator who facilitates arts integrated experiences • The school works to increase its capacity to teach and learn, in and through the arts • The school manages and spends funds within program guidelines • The office provides time for the school clerk to process AAA funds • Artists are compensated for planning and reflection time • Teachers, artists, and coaches routinely document, analyze, and share work • Coordinators and coaches complete a final report
