Installation and Setup for Sunflower UID 1.0 1 System Requirements: Component Requirement Computer and Processor P4 or higher Memory 1 gigabyte (GB) recommended for optimal performance Hard Disk 1 gigabyte (GB) of free space for optimal Database installation and services Drive CD-ROM or DVD Drive Display 1024x768 or higher resolution monitor Operating System Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 2 or later operating system1 Other Additional disk space may be required for a large number of records. Actual Requirements and product functionality may vary depending on the system configuration and operating system. 1 SUNFLOWERUID 1.0 has been tested for Windows XP with SP1 and SP2 installed, but due to the various security patches available in SP2, it is recommended that the user install SUNFLOWERUID 1.0 on Windows with SP2 2 Installation Procedures: You must be logged into the computer that is being used to install Sunflower UID as a user with administrative privilege. Step 1: Download the file: SunflowerUIDInstaller.zip on your system and unzip in a temporary folder. Step 2: Double Click the icon SunflowerUIDInstaller.exe and the installation process will now start Note: Once the extraction is complete as shown below, the Setup Wizard will guide the user through the rest of the installation: Step 3: The Wizard will now guide you through the installation Click “Next” to start the Sunflower UID 1.0 Wizard Step 4: The Wizard now will ask the user to enter the installation path/directory for Sunflower UID 1.0 The default path is: “C:\Program Files\Snflwr\SunflowerUIDInstaller\” but user can install the application in a different directory by Clicking on “Browse” and selecting the installation directory. After selecting the Installation directory, user can now click on “Next” to begin the installation. Step 5: The installer will now ask you to confirm the installation settings. If user wants to change the settings he/she can click on “Back” button and change the installation directory. Once the user is satisfied with the installation settings user may click on “Install” button and the installation will start. Step 6: The installer will now install the necessary files that will be required to run the services for Sunflower UID 1.0. The following screen displays the extraction and installation of the services: Step 7: Click on the “Finish” button to complete the installation. Step 8: Restart Computer. Step 9: Finally after installing Sunflower UID 1.0, three icons are created on the user’s desktop: Icon: Purpose: Install Services on the System to run Sunflower UID 1.0 on the user’s machine Uninstall Services from the System in the user’s machine Note: Should be run before Uninstalling Sunflower UID 1.0. Running this stops all the services that were installed for running Sunflower UID 1.0 Uninstall Sunflower UID 1.0 from the user’s machine. Double Click the following SunflowerUID-InstallServices icon and the services will be installed and started. Step 10: To run the Sunflower UID 1.0 on your system; go to Start>Run and enter: http://localhost:8080/SunflowerUID Then press Enter/Return on your keyboard. Note: The above URL is case sensitive. Users can click on this link after installing Sunflower UID 1.0 Behind the screens: Once Sunflower UID 1.0 is installed and the user has launched the application, the following environment variables are set on the system: i) JAVA_HOME (path) ii) JBOSS_HOME iii) MySQL_HOME Services running on the machine, which can be located on the services applet, are: a) SUNFLOWERUID_JBOSS b) SUNFLOWERUID_MySQL 3 First time Setup Instructions: Once the above URL is launched, users will be viewing the following screen: In the above screen, enter: Username: admin Password: 123456 Admin is the default user created for Sunflower UID 1.0. The Admin user can now create multiple users using the following steps: Step i: On the Main Menu, Select: “System Administration”: Step ii: On the Sub Menu, click on: Manage User: Step iii: The default tab that opens is: Manage Users Screen. To create a “New User”, click on “Create Users” tab: Step iv: Fill out the fields on the Create User screen and detail how long you want to keep the user activated for using Sunflower UID 1.0. Click Save. Note: Giving a user a begin and end date enables security for the system to enable and disable the users’ accounts for Sunflower UID 1.0. Once a user’s validity period ends the user cannot access Sunflower UID 1.0, however the Admin user can activate an expired account by changing the End Date from the above screen. Step v: To change the password, the user can click on the “Reset Password” tab: A: By clicking on the Reset Password tab, the user can access the User information screen where the Admin user can change his/her or another user’s password. B: If the Admin user is changing another user’s password, all he/she needs to do is enter the new password and re-enter it. The Admin user does not need to know the old password of the user. C: The drop down will list all users authorized to use Sunflower UID 1.0 D: Click Reset 4 Uninstall Sunflower UID 1.0: Sunflower UID uninstaller comes in two parts. The first part is to uninstall the Sunflower UID 1.0 services, after which you can uninstall Sunflower UID 1.0 itself. Step 1: User must first uninstall the services that were installed. Services may be uninstalled by running the SunflowerUID-UninstallServices Icon. User will be asked to confirm uninstallation for SunflowerUID 1.0. Select “Yes” to initiate uninstallation. Step 2: Following window will open during the services uninstallation: Note: The system will exit this screen automatically; do not try to close this screen manually. Step 3: Once the services are uninstalled, the user can now run the icon to uninstall Sunflower UID 1.0 from the machine. This icon uninstalls all the data, as well as all Sunflower UID 1.0 files from the user’s machine. Step 4: Once Sunflower UID 1.0 is uninstalled a pop up will require the user to restart the machine to complete the uninstallation process. The user may choose to restart later as well by selecting “No”. To confirm system restart, user can select “Yes”. Note: Users can choose to only uninstall the services from the machine. Uninstalling the services only, removes the jboss and java services that are required to run Sunflower UID 1.0. The user can re- install the services by running the SunflowerUID-InstallServices icon. If the user wishes to uninstall Sunflower UID and purge all data, the user needs to first uninstall services and then uninstall the Sunflower UID 1.0 by following steps 1-4 above.
