Technical Installation Guide for Yahoo! Store – Tracking Code Implementation v1.01

I. OVERVIEW
Installation of Dynamic Sitestats tracking service is a straightforward process that can be achieved by
following each step of this Installation Guide.

This installation guide is designed for use by Yahoo! Store operators who want to use the Dynamic Sitestats
tracking service to analyze their site/s sales and traffic activity. The instructions provided hereto should be
carried out by a site Webmaster or an individual with advanced familiarity of the Yahoo! Store Editor.

Using this guide, you will be able to place analytics tracking technology on your web site and see the entire
lifecycle of your online marketing efforts. This includes all marketing activity including PPC Campaign buys
as offered by Overture and Google, and other tactics such as email, banner of affiliate campaigns. By being
able to see the end-result of your marketing activities (Conversions/Revenue) you will be able to track the
effectiveness of your campaign spend and resulting revenue generated to better optimize your customer
acquisition efforts.

This installation guide is accompanied by a suite of Codes and Files (listed below). You should save these
codes and files into a folder entitled “Dynamic Sitestats Installation” to ensure easy access during the
insertion phase.

 General Tracking Code (tc_general.txt)
 Indextools.jsInclude File (Dynamic Sitestats.js)
 Tracking Code for the Order Confirmation Page (tc_order.txt)
 Tracking Code for the Billing Info Page (tc_billing.txt)
 Tracking Code for the Shipping Info Page (tc_shipping.txt)
 Tracking Code for the Order Status Page (tc_status.txt)
 Indextools-ssl.jsInclude File (Dynamic Sitestats-ssl.js)

In order to track your Yahoo! Store you must insert these codes in to your web pages and upload the files to
your Yahoo! Store webserver. From these codes and files the service collects all the data that is required to
provide comprehensive insight into the sales, marketing and traffic activity of your Yahoo! Store.

Instructions to track sales and revenue are included in Section II.1 of this document. You must upload the
supplied Indextools-ssl.jsInclude File to the Lib Directory of your Yahoo! Store (Section II.2) and insert the
Order Form tracking codes within their specific Fields in your Yahoo! Store Order Form (Section II.3)

To track Non-Secure activity you must upload the Indextools.jsInclude File to the Lib Directory of your Yahoo!
Store (Section III.1). As Yahoo! Stores are based on a template methodology, in order to track activity on
your Non-Secure pages you must create a custom variable (Section III.2) to house General Tracking Code.
This variable must then be inserted into all your active page templates (Section III.4). In the case of Built-In
Templates, which are NOT modifiable (hence will not accept insertion of the Custom Variable), you will need
to copy the Built-in template and create a Custom duplicate so that you can insert the Custom Variable in that
page template. Instructions for creating a copy of a Built-In Template are covered in Section III.3 of this
guide.

In addition to tracking Sales and Revenue, Dynamic Sitestats allows you to customize the tracking code
further still. If you wish to track additional Actions such as Sign-Up Newsletter Subscription or you can define
your own custom action, just contact your account manager for an individual needs assessment and
assistance in implementing further customization options.

edit the content of your site to ensure that your site pages are based on the custom templates not the
built-in templates.

IV. CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT

      IV.1. GENERAL

Dynamic Sitestats E-Business includes a Campaign Management feature that allows you to track online
advertising campaigns including PPC/CPC search engines, Affiliate Programs, E-mail campaigns, Banner
      campaigns etc.

You do NOT need to make any changes to the tracking code to activate Campaign Management.
Campaign settings can be configured online using the CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT interface of your
      Dynamic Sitestats account.

      IV.2. IDENTIFYING CAMPAIGNS
In order to be able to differentiate visitors arriving to your site by campaign generation, you must define a
pattern in the REFERRER or in the ENTRY PAGE of your website within the Campaign Management
      Interface.

In the case of a PPC/CPC campaign, you CAN NOT define the pattern by REFERRER rather you must
define the activity by ENTRY PAGE URL. This can be achieved by adding a “tracking string” to your
regular click thru / ENTRY PAGE URL.

      Regular URL : www.abc.com/index.html
      Tracking URL: www.abc.com/index.html?campaign=overture

Make sure that the target URL (click thru) in your PPC/CPC Search Engine account matches that set up
in this interface. If for example you add a tracking string to your Overture campaign for the purpose of
tracking activity, you must make sure that the tracking string is also included on the URL that is being
used in campaign that is being run on the Overture network.

Note: The "tracking string" is used for tracking purposes only. It does not effect your web server
in anyway and it reduces the number of pages that you need to maintain (Landing Pages).
