RECYCLE YOUR ELECTRONIC WASTE
The Department of Public Works will collect electronics from borough residents. We need to remove these toxic
products from the waste stream. Computers, monitors, keyboards, mouse, telephones, small TV’s, VCR’s, DVD’s,
stereos and microwaves are all acceptable materials. The electronics will be taken to a licensed de-manufacturer
to have the hazardous materials removed. The D.P.W. will collect electronics on the first and third Wednesday of
every month. If that happens to be a holiday or a snow event, then they will collect on the following day. You must
call the D.P.W. at 201-337-8104 between 8:30am-4:00pm to be put on the collection list. Please call by 4:00pm on
the Monday before the pickup. Place your material near the curb where it can be easily seen. No large TV’s (32”
and up) or TV’s in wooden cabinets.
PLEASE RECYCLE YOUR CARDBOARD AND ALL TYPES OF PAPER
Do not put cardboard boxes out with your garbage collection. Cardboard is a recyclable material. Place
cardboard out with your other paper recyclables. Empty the boxes of any styrofoam, peanut packaging, plastic,
trash, etc. All paper material including cereal boxes, mixed office paper, computer paper, newspapers, magazines,
telephone books, junk mail, wrapping paper, books, etc. are recyclable. Plastic bags are prohibited. Since they

Recyclables can be mixed together in an open barrel. Please do not use plastic or paper bags that would contami-
nate our loads. Acceptable material includes soda cans, glass food jars and beverage containers, tin soup or coffee
cans, and various plastics. Check for a recycling stamp on the bottom of the plastic containers; #1 thru #7 are
acceptable. Unacceptable material includes mirrors, window glass, lightbulbs, ceramics, paint cans, and general

All types of clean, dry textiles are accepted: sheets, blankets, curtains, shoes, towels, winter and summer

Collection Bins for household batteries are behind Borough Hall, at the D.P.W. Service Garage, in Shop Rite, and
inside the Borough Hall entrance. No automobile or large batteries are allowed. They are disposed of properly at
