Early this year, the Standing Committee of the National Peoples’ Congress (NPC) made public the full text of the draft law, and will solicit public feedback on the draft law this coming June. Legal experts predict that the draft law could be passed and effective by early next year. CSCC, therefore, has organized a workshop that provides an overview of the draft law and the impact the new law will have on Chinese businesses. This workshop is ideal for Human Resources Managers, Operational Managers, Compliance Managers, and Corporate Executives responsible for preparing their companies for compliance with this new legislation. She was taught and mentored by the top two labor law scholars in Mainland China, Prof. Tung Bowah, one of the writers of PRC Labor Law, and Prof. Cheng Kai, professor of Renmin University of China. Ms. Qiu Jie was also invited to attend the Labor Contract Law research group in 2006 and was involved in the discussions surrounding the draft Labor Contract Law. Ms. Qiu’s research interest is the China Labor Law and corporate management integration. She specializes in developing employee morale, prevention of labor disputes, corporate policy and procedure development and Labor Law and modern human resources management integration. She has been a consultant to a number of listed companies in China, such as Shanghai Power, China Telecom and China Construction Bank Corporation. Ms. Qiu is also a frequent contributor to Chinese media, such as newspapers and television to educate the public about the Labor Law. Ms. Qiu has also spoken at numerous conferences such as the Shanghai Enterprise Confederation on the topic of Chinese Labor Law.
