The windshield wiper system is controlled by the Wiper
Motor Control Module J400 which is integrated with
Windshield Wiper Motor V .

Wiper Motor Control Module J400 functions can be
checked using On Board Diagnostic (OBD) program
function "Output Diagnostic Test Mode" 92-1, Wiper
Motor Control Module J400 , Output Diagnostic Test Mode
(DTM) .

Note:

The front hood ( Front Hood Switch F266 ) must be
closed in order to activate windshield wiper
     functions.

In the event that the Windshield Wiper Motor V with
Wiper Motor Control Module J400 , J400 must be
coded 92-1, Wiper Motor Control Module J400 ,
     coding

The rain and ambient light intensity determined by
Rain/Light Recognition Sensor G397 is converted to
signals which are transmitted to J400 for automatic
wiper control, as well as to Vehicle Electrical System
Control Module J519 for automatic headlamp control
