VILLA IN THE HILLS
BETWEEN LUCCA AND PISA
(Tuscany)
8 people
THE NEWLY-BUILT VILLA
Built on the hills in the vicinity of an old convent, the villa is situated only 3kms from the medieval
city of Lucca. It is immersed in nature and surrounded by chestnut trees where small wild animals
such as squirrels live.
This villa is ideal for people who wish to escape from the daily frenzy life and breath unpolluted air.
Inside it features: a sitting room with a typical stone fireplace, a dining room, a kitchen with all
modern facilities, two bathrooms with a shower and a studio where there is a double bed settee and
a cocktail cabinet.
There are two double bedded rooms and a bedroom with a bunk bed. The bedrooms are furnished
with typical Tuscan furniture.
Upstairs there is an attic with a Japanese double bed, an armchair, and two chests.
Outside the house there is a swimming pool ( 12 x 6 meters) where you can refresh yourself during
the hot summer days, and a big garden (3000 meters) where you can sit, eat and drink your glass of
Italian wine under a very comfortable patio.

The nearby convent overlooking the plain and the city of Lucca is run by the nuns Daughters of St.
Francis de Sales.
Location:
The place is ideal for people who like walking on the hills and visit historic places such as:
Pisa(15Km), Florence(65Km), Viareggio (Versilia coast, 25Km), Siena, the Cinque Terre and other
small typical Tuscan villages. The villa is located on the hills, but you can easily reach a
supermarket (5 minutes by car) and other shops without having to drive into the centre of Lucca.
Lucca is quite a small city, entirely surrounded by tree-topped medieval walls. It has really good
shops, and is plenty of artistic sights. Lucca is a wonderful little city with much to admire. One of
Italy's finest mediaeval treasures, the centre is relatively unspoilt and is sprinkled with “palazzi”,
towers and almost countless splendid churches. The surrounding hills produce some excellent wines
and arguably the finest olive oil anywhere (the famous olive oil of Lucca).
