Dialogue: Two apprentices who work for a company in Mühlhausen – Büroartikel Mucke GmbH - talk together during their lunch break at work. Lisa is still in her first year as an apprentice and Lars is already in his third year. Lisa: Hello. How are you? Lars: Fine thanks. And you? Lisa: I ‘m fine, too. Are you busy at work today? Lars: Yes, I have to write a lot of business letters. Lisa: I am going to write my first letter today. Christina Mucke asked me to help her this afternoon. I have to write a letter to a hotel in London. Lars: Did you already talk about business letters at school? Lisa: We just started with this topic. The teacher told us that there is a certain form and style in business communication. Lars: Oh, yes. Especially if you are writing to a person in England. People in Britain are very polite and you can learn a lot about the language itself, if you write English business letters. I am quite good in English, I would like to help you with this task. Lisa: Oh, this would be nice. Can you start to explain the different parts of a business letter to me first? Lars: Now problem. Let‘s start!
