Essential Requirements
Please use the boxes on the following pages to demonstrate how you meet the essential

1 One year experience of administration support in a busy office environment
2 Significant previous experience of undertaking reception work
3 Completion of the CAB certificated training programme and/or 3 months actual advice work in a
recognised not-for-profit or solicitor agency (Desirable)
4 Able to use all features of conventional word processing system. Min typing speed of 40wpm.
5 Ability to create and use spreadsheets, databases & Microsoft word to prepare correspondence
and reports that are clear and grammatically correct
6 Ability to undertake a range of admin functions including taking accurate minutes, filing, dealing
with messages
7 Ability to organise own workload/time and meet priorities and deadlines as required.
8 Ability to conduct short, focused interviews, analyse information and identify the best next steps for
clients
9 Ability to provide clients with accessible self help information or give assisted information in a clear
and understandable format
10 Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with wide range of people verbally and in written format.
11 Ability to work effectively as a team member and have an understanding of the effective delegation
of work
12 Experience and ability to deal with frustrated/angry clients in a calm, effective manner
13 Demonstrate a commitment to personal development and learning new skills and abilities
14 Evidence of willingness to work irregular hours and ability to travel to meet the needs of the job
15 Understanding of and commitment to Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies.
