Meeting called to order at 7:00p.m.

President Report Cindy Keller
-Nurses Report: No confirmed cases of H1N1, many kids out w/ respiratory illnesses.
Sports physicals are Tuesday, Oct 27 and are free for students.
-BOE Recognition Dinner, Oct 26, PTSA supplies desserts
-Lancer Blankets: Sold 55- Carol Johnson won the open house raffle
        EHS Class of 1968 toured EHS and took Lancer Blanket forms- got one order
        form CO
        Penfield contacted Cindy re: blankets, they ended up ordering them.
        Blankets will arrive Dec 4
-CLIX Portrait fundraiser, Sat Nov 28.
-Project Graduation Leads: Cindy Keller, Sue Reuter, Judy Hughes and Betsy Hawes
-Fall apparel – order forms and information on table. Money is due Oct 26 to main office

-Reflections: Due date is Nov 2, showcase for arts, literature, photography and film.

       -Mr Glen Cummings ( Social Studies & Music teacher) will be recognized
       Thursday evening at a ceremony in Saratoga Springs as a finalist in the 2010 NYS
       Teacher of the Year.

Principal Report – Mark Anson for Mary Grow
-EHS celebrated homecoming at PAETEC PARK with a win over Batavia, and our
football team has continued to win.
-Mr. Edwards hosted a Sophomore IB night for parents
-Open House was Oct 1
-Three senior girls received accolades for placing in the Area All State music
competition: Kerri Reuter, Sarah Del Vecchio and Alexa DiRaimo were selected. Alexa
made it into the Orchestra and is 1 of 2 clarinets selected for this group. Sara and Kerri
both made the concert band: Sara is 1st clarinet, 3rd seat and Kerri is 1st horn, 2nd seat.
-Senior Thomas Simmons received a letter of Commendation from the 2010 National
Merit Scholars in recognition of his scores on the PSAT exam.
-Mr. Glen Cummings, Social Studies and Music teacher, will be recognized on Thurs.
evening at a ceremony in Saratoga Springs as a finalist in the NYS Teacher of the Year.
Glen was among several educators nominated for this award and was one of only 2
-There was no school Oct 9 as all of EI schools participated in school improvement day.
Gary Howard spoke to the secondary schools in the a.m. in an effort to raise “Cultural

-The Lancer Marching Band competed over the weekend in Victor & will perform Sat.

-Fri Oct 23 is the make-up school picture day and on Sun, Oct 25th, there will be a chili
dinner fundraiser in memory of Daniel Slater, 1-5pm at the Irondequoit Fish and Game
Club on Bayview Road. All proceeds will go to establish a scholarship in Dan’s name.

Student Report – Matt Mazar
-JRS won the float contest in the Homecoming Parade
-Student Government will be conducting a food drive benefitting the Irondequoit
Community Cupboard Monday, Oct 26 through Nov 24. Students can drop off non-
perishable food items in boxes posted at the A-day homerooms. The homeroom that
collects the most food will win a pizza party.
-The Lancer Marching Band will be travelling to Webster, Sat, Oct 24 for their final
competition before Dome. Come out and support the Lancer Band!
-The school play, “The Awakening” will commence on Nov 6, 7 at 730pm in the EHS
auditorium. It is an original show directed by IB 12 Seniors. There is a suggested $5
donation at the door to benefit EHS Drama Club.
-IB Biology Juniors w ill be coming up with their Group 4 project. The aim of the
project is for biology students to collaborate with students from another class or school
on a scientific matter and to conduct research.

-The SAT will be Sat, Nov 7 at 745am. It’s still not too late to register for the Dec 5 SAT
which will be at Eastridge. Registration deadline is Oct. 30.
-The ACT will be held on Sat, Dec 12 at 745am at Eastridge. Registration deadline is
Friday, Nov 6.

Teacher Report- Mary Clark
-Stay Program Fundraiser- family in need.
-Glen Cummings is having one of his classes make power presentations to be shared at a
later date
-The Model UN club is attending a conference in November
-Spirit Wear is now for sale. Order forms will be made available in homeroom or the
main office. Kids can order sweatshirts, sweatpants, pajama pants and t-shirts.
-Planning for the new school musical, “Annie” has begun
-The Western NY College fair will be in the high school library on Oct 27, students sign
up with Mrs. Anderson in the main office
-Scholarships- It is never too early to begin applying for scholarships.

BOE Report- Kim Lasher
-Ceremony for new and newly tenured faculty.
-Presentation from SWOOP and Security
-Convention: resolutions
-Adopted various textbooks and 2009-2010 Board Goals, also curriculum for Eng,
Primary Arts, French at Durand and Spanish at LP, also new curriculum for math, PE,
Science, Technology, etc… see website for details
-Conceptual approval for 8th grade trip to NYC
-Foreign language students EHS April 2010 France
-Personnel issues addressed

Counseling Report- Karen Kreuter
-PSAT and PLAN test were Sat., Oct 17.
-The Western New York College Consortium is coming to EHS on Tues, 10-27 from
1130am to 1215pm. 18 colleges/ universities will be represented including: Alfred State,
Alfred University, Buffalo State, Canisius College, Daemen College, D’Youville
College, Erie Community College, SUNY Fredonia, Hilbert College, Medaille College,
St. Bonaventure University, Trocaire College, SUNY Buffalo, Villa Marie College,
Bryant and Stratton, Genesee Community College, Niagara Community College.
- Scholarships continue to come in. Please make sure all seniors have completed the
scholarship application and submit their names for scholarship opportunities.
-Counselors are winding down individual meetings with senior students and parents.
If anyone missed this opportunity, please call the counseling center.
-The next SAT dates are as follows: 12-5 with a deadline of 10-30, 1-23 with a deadline
of 12-15. ACT 12-12 with a deadline of 11-6. Students can register online for the SAT
at and for the ACT.

Athletic Report – Mary Hochheimer for Bob Croccetti
V:      4 – 0 in our last 4 games to finish 4 – 3. Our next game is this Saturday at 2:00
versus Aquinas in Class A sectional quarterfinals. Since the last report, Akil Sanders
earned offensive player of the week for the weekend of October 2 – 4 and Kevin Schleyer
earned defensive player of the week for the weekend of October 9 – 11.
Boys Soccer
V:      1 - 13 Next game is Tuesday at HFL at 4:30.
Girls Soccer
V:      2 - 11 Next game is today at Canandaigua at 6:30. Senior game is this Friday at
8:00 at McAvoy.
Field Hockey
V:      1 - 11 Next game is Tuesday at East Rochester at 7:30. Senior game is Monday,
10/26 at 7:00 at McAvoy.
Boys Volleyball
V:      4 - 9 Next game is today at Canandaigua at 6:30. Senior game is next Tuesday,
10/27 at 6:30.
Girls Volleyball
V:      5 - 11 Next game is Tuesday at Sutherland at 6:15.
V:      4 - 6 Next Meet is Thursday home against HFL. Senior meet is next Tuesday,
10/27 against East at 4:30
Cross Country: Boys: 0 – 20 girls 3 - 17. Next meet is tomorrow at Black Creek.
Capital Project Update:
New stadium is taking shape. The drainage blanket is almost complete and they will start
laying down the turf this week. They are also in the process of putting in the 8 – lane

Site Base Report- Cecil Johnson
No meeting/ next meeting is November.
