fRancEsco paRisi teaches law and economics, comparative law, and analytical methods and is the 2007-08 Vance K. Opperman Research Scholar. In 2006, he was appointed Professor of Public Finance, Department of Economics, University of Bologna. In 2002-06, he was Distinguished Professor of Private Law, University of Milan Faculty of Law, and in 1993-06, he was a professor, director of the Law and Economics Program, and associate director of the J.M. Buchanan Center for Political Economy at George Mason University. Professor Parisi received his D.Jur. degree from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”; LL.M., J.S.D., and M.A. degrees in economics from the University of California at Berkeley; and a Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University. He has written numerous books and articles on law and economics and currently is editor-in-chief of the Review of Law and Economics and the Supreme Court Economic Review. He serves on the board of editors of the International Review of Law and Economics, the Journal of Public Choice, the American Journal of Comparative Law, and the Social Sciences Research Network.
