QUICKEN® 2003 FOR WINDOWS®: JPMORGAN CHASE BANK TO CHASE UPDATING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT ACCESS Due to an upgrade to the JPMorgan Chase Bank system, you will need to modify some information in your Quicken software. To maintain uninterrupted access to your account information, please complete the following steps before January 24, 2006. NOTE: If you wait until after January 24, 2006 to update your information, your Quicken access will not work properly. STEP 1 ENROLL AT CHASE.COM AND ACTIVATE QUICKEN To access Chase.com using your Quicken® software, you will need to get a User ID and Password for Chase.com, and then activate Quicken at Chase.com. If you have never enrolled in Chase.com - never accessed your accounts directly through the Chase.com website - then follow directions below. Get a Chase.com User ID and Password 1. Go to Chase.com with your Internet Browser. 2. Select the blue Enroll button in the upper left hand corner. 3. Follow the Enrollment steps to create a Chase.com User ID and Password for your personal accounts, business accounts, or both. Once you have enrolled, login to Chase.com using your Chase User ID and Password and follow the directions below. Activate Quicken at Chase.com 1. Go to the Customer Center page and select the Activate Quicken, Money, etc. link. 2. Review the legal agreement page. The fee disclosure will be part of the legal agreement. You must select the I Agree button to proceed. 3. Select your primary account from the drop-down list. Select the Activate button to proceed. • If you select a Basic One or College Checking account you will be presented with the Bill Pay fee notification. You must select I accept or you will not be able to activate your PFM service. BILL PAY FEES WILL NOT APPLY IN THIS CASE. YOU WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDING TO THE PFM FEE SCHEDULE. 4. You have now activated Quicken with Chase and you will see the Confirmation page. 1 STEP 2 INSTALL THE LATEST QUICKEN 2003 UPDATE Follow the steps in this section to determine if a Quicken update is available and to download the update. Quicken will connect to Intuit and download software updates and the new Chase brand information. 1. 2. 3. 4. From the Quicken Online menu, choose One Step Update. Uncheck all options in the One Step Update dialog boxes and click Update Now. If an update is available, Quicken will download it and you should apply it now. Exit and restart Quicken. 2 STEP 3 BACK UP YOUR CURRENT QUICKEN DATA 1. From the Quicken File menu, choose Backup. 2. Enter the necessary information in the Quicken Backup dialog boxes, and click OK. 3 STEP 4 DELETE ANY OUTSTANDING PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: If you don’t use online bill payment with your account, please skip this section and go to Step 5. If you use online bill payment with your account, you will need to delete all pending and repeating online payments that you have scheduled through JPMorgan Chase Bank. Any scheduled payment that you can’t cancel due to insufficient time will continue to be processed and paid. Any payment you cancel will not be paid, but we’ll show you how to reschedule those payments a little later. To delete repeating online payments: 1. From the Quicken Cash Flow menu, choose Online Center. Make sure that JPMorgan Chase Bank is selected from the Financial Institution drop-down list. 2. Click the Payments tab. 3. In the Online Center menu bar, click Repeating. 4. In the Scheduled Transaction List menu bar, click Print to print a list of the repeating payments to delete (and recreate later). 5. Click the first repeating payment. 6. In the Scheduled Transaction List menu bar, click Delete, and then click Delete again to confirm. Quicken changes the transaction type from Repeat to Reptcancel for the selected repeating payment. 7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for each remaining repeating payment. 4 To delete pending online payments: 1. From the Quicken Cash Flow menu, choose Online Center. Make sure that JPMorgan Chase Bank is selected from the Financial Institution drop-down list. 2. Click the Payments tab. 3. In the Online Center menu bar, choose Print to print a list of payments to delete (and recreate later). 4. For each payment that is scheduled for delivery, select the payment and click Cancel Payment. 5. If you pay bills from more than one account at JPMorgan Chase Bank, select each additional account in the Account list box and repeat Step 4. 5 STEP 5 1. 2. 3. 4. CONNECT WITH JPMORGAN CHASE BANK From the Quicken Cash Flow menu, choose Online Center. Select JPMorgan Chase Bank from the Financial Institution drop-down list. Click Update/Send. Enter your JPMorgan Chase Bank PIN and click Send. During this connection, you will: • Send payment cancellations (if applicable) • Download your transaction information through the last business day prior to this connection. • Note: If an error occurs while you are online, please keep trying until you are successful. This will be the last Online Session you will make with the JP Morgan Chase Bank in Quicken. 6 STEP 6 ACCEPT DOWNLOADED TRANSACTIONS AND DELETE EMAILS Accept Downloaded Transactions from JPMorgan Chase Bank 1. After the transactions are downloaded, go through the matching process and accept all transactions into your Quicken account register. 2. Accept all transactions for each account connected to JPMorgan Chase Bank. Delete Emails from JPMorgan Chase Bank Choose Cash Flow from the menu bar and then choose Online Center. Make sure JPMorgan Chase Bank is chosen in the drop down list. Click the E-mail tab. Highlight an email, click Delete. Click Yes in the pop-up window to delete the email. 5. Repeat step 4 for every email from JPMorgan Chase Bank. 1. 2. 3. 4. 7 STEP 7 DISABLE YOUR ACCOUNTS WITH JPMORGAN CHASE BANK 1. Open the register for the first account at JPMorgan Chase Bank. 2. Click the Overview tab. 3. Before you continue, it is important that you record your account information. From this window you will see your Account Number. Write this information down so you have it later, or choose File, Print Page. 4. In the Account Attributes area, click Change Online Services. 5. Click Deactivate in the Transaction Download area and then click Yes in the pop-up dialog box to confirm. • If do not have Online Payment activated, you will receive the message: “You are about to delete setup information for an online account.” • Click OK. Click OK again. 6. If you have activated Online Payment, click Deactivate in the Online Payment area and then click Yes in the pop-up dialog box to confirm. Click OK to the message: “You are about to delete setup information for an online account.” Click OK. 7. When both Transaction Download and Online Payment have been deactivated, click OK to close the Account Details dialog box. 8. Repeat steps 1-7 for all JPMorgan Chase Bank accounts you have enabled for online access. 9. To ensure all your online accounts have been disabled, go to Tools, Account List and verify the word ‘Activated’ does not appear in the Online Services column for all your JPMorgan Chase Bank accounts. Close this screen by clicking the ‘X’ on the top right corner of this page. 8 STEP 8 ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNTS WITH CHASE 1. You’ll be on the Overview page for the last account you disabled for online services. Click Edit Account Details. 2. On the right side, for Financial Institution, erase JPMorgan Chase Bank and select Chase from the drop-down list. Click OK to change the Financial Institution. Note: Do not select JPMorgan Chase Bank. 3. Repeat Step 2 for each Chase account. 4. Click the Online Services tab. 5. To activate Transaction Download, click Activate in the Transaction Download area. 6. Enter your Chase.com User ID and Password. Click Next. 7. Quicken will connect to Chase.com and return with your available accounts. 8. In the ‘Online Account Activation’ screen, you will be provided a list of all available Chase accounts. Highlight an account, and select one of the options below: • Match to this Quicken account: Choose this option to match the online account to an existing Quicken account in this data file. Choose a Quicken account from the drop-down menu, and then click Accept. • Add new account to Quicken: Choose this option to add a new Quicken account in which to track the online account. Type a name for the new account, and then click Accept. • Do not use this account in Quicken: Choose this option to ignore the online account. Quicken will not download transactions for this account and it will not be available for making online payments. Quicken labels it "ignored" in this window. Click Accept. Repeat this for every account you want to enable for online services. Then click Next. 9 STEP 8 ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNTS WITH CHASE 9. Review the listed accounts and click Done. 10. The ‘One Step Update’ screen will appear asking for your Chase.com Password to update your Quicken accounts. 11. Quicken will connect again to Chase.com and download your latest transactions. Accept the transactions into your account registers. 12. Due to our server change, you may download duplicate transactions. • Select the Duplicate transaction, then right click the mouse and select Void Transaction. • Click Enter on the transaction to Void the transaction. VOID will be added to the Payee Name field and the Amount will be blank for that transaction. 10 STEP 9 REVIEW YOUR PAYEE LIST NOTE: If you don’t use online bill payment, please skip sections 9 and 10, and go to Step 11. The next time you plan to pay a bill be sure to verify your Payee information including the Payee account number and Payee address. 1. From the Quicken Cash Flow menu, choose Online Payees List. 2. For each payee in the list: • Click the payee. • Click Edit in the toolbar in the Online Payee List window. • In the Edit Online Payee dialog box, verify that the payee’s address matches the address on the payee’s most recent statement, make changes if needed, and then click OK. • Review the payee lead-time so that you are aware of any change and to ensure that your payment won’t be made too late (or too soon). 11 STEP 10 RECREATE YOUR PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: If you don’t use online bill payment, please skip sections 9 and 10, and go to Step 11. Do not perform the following steps until you have completed steps 1-9. If you deleted repeating online payments earlier, here’s how to reschedule them: 1. From the Quicken Cash Flow menu, choose Online Center. Make sure that Chase is selected from the Financial Institution drop-down list. 2. Click the Payments tab. 3. In the Online Center menu bar, click Repeating. 4. For each repeating payment that appears on your printed list of deleted repeating payments: A. Recreate the payment following the prompts within the software. B. Click Authorize. 12 STEP 10 RECREATE YOUR PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS If you canceled pending online payments earlier, here’s how to reschedule them: 1. From the Quicken Cash Flow menu, choose Online Center. Make sure that Chase is selected from the Financial Institution drop-down list. 2. Click the Payments tab. 3. For each payment that appears on your printed list of scheduled payments: • Recreate the payment following the prompts within the software. • Click Enter. 13 STEP 11 CONNECT TO CHASE If you use the Quicken PIN Vault, update it now. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. If you use the Quicken PIN Vault, you will need to update your Chase PIN. From the Online menu, select PIN Vault, then Edit. Enter your PIN Vault password. Click OK. Select Chase as the financial institution. Click Change PIN. Enter your Chase.com Password. Enter Chase.com Password again to confirm it. Click Change. Quicken will save your Chase.com Password and closes the dialog. 1. From the Quicken Cash Flow menu, choose Online Center. Make sure that Chase is selected from the Financial Institution drop-down list. 2. In the Online Center window, click Update/Send. Make sure to use your new Chase PIN when prompted. 3.
