          KAPPA ALPHA PSI FRATERNITY INC. ETA RHO CHAPTER

                                Objectives and Motto

To   unite college men of culture, patriotism, and honor in a bond of fraternity.
To   encourage honorable achievement in every field of human endeavor.
To   promote the spiritual, social, intellectual, and moral welfare of members.
To   assist in the aims and purposes of colleges and universities.
To   inspire service in the public interest.

                                     ARTICLE I
                              National and Chapter Name

This organization is to be known as Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The chapter name is
                             to be known as Eta Rho chapter.

                                    ARTICLE II
                             National and Chapter History

 Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc, was founded January 5, 1911 at Indiana University by
ten disguised gentlemen; Elder Watson Diggs, Ezra D. Alexander, Byron K. Armstrong,
  Henry T. Asher, Marcus P. Blakemore, Paul W. Caine, George W. Edmonds, Guy L.
                         Grant, Edward G, Irvin, John M. Lee

     On the campus of Central Michigan University, the Eta Rho chapter was founded
                                 November 23 1974.

                                     ARTICLE II
                                     Membership

Section A: Membership in the Eta Rho Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. shall
           be open to any man who has been duly initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi
           Fraternity Inc.

Section B: Membership Qualification(s)
       a. Membership into this organization shall not be denied because of age, color,
          disability, gender, familial status, height, martial status, national origin,
          political persuasion, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status or weight.
       b. No man shall be received into active membership of this organization until he
          has duly initiated into the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
       c. Any man of good character is eligible for undergraduate membership in this
          organization provided that:
              1. He is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent Central Michigan
                  University.
              2. He has achieved second semester freshman status(12 credits)
              3. He has a 2.3 accumulative grade point average, on a scale of 4.00
              4. He has been approved for membership by majority vote of this
                  organization.
              5. He is not a member of any fraternity holding membership in the
                  National Pan-Hellenic Council and/or Pan-Hellenic.
              6. He meets all financial requirements of the grand Chapter:
                        a. Each candidate for membership in Eta Rho Chapter of Kappa
                            Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. shall pay the necessary dues every
                            year he is a member to this chapter.

Section C:    Selection of Members
              A. Eta Rho chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. will select members in the
              fall and/or spring of every school year.
              B. Majority vote of the membership will be needed for the candidate to
                    be selected.
              C. In addition the potential member must also:
                       a. Submit a complete application with all requirements complete
                       b. Attend a membership interview
                       c. Membership by majority vote

Section D:    Voting Privileges
              A. All Financial active members of the Eta Rho Chapter are entitled to
                  vote on all issues affecting the chapter.
Section E:    Termination of Membership
              A. This organization, upon the written approval of the District Director,
                  may make a financial member inactive for:
                     a.      Repeated infraction of the rules and regulations of Central
                             Michigan University and Eta Rho Chapter of Kappa Alpha
                             Psi Fraternity, Inc.
                     b.      Hazing or harassing a potential member of Kappa Alpha
                             Psi Fraternity, Inc.

                                      ARTICLE IV

Section A:     Elected Officers
Polemarch- shall be the official head of a chapter. He shall preside at its meetings and
have general supervision of its affairs; he shall appoint all committees not otherwise
provided for by law. He shall have the power o call special or extra meetings when he
considers it necessary, provided each member of the chapter shall be notified in writing at
least five days in advance of such meetings.

Vice Polmarch- shall perform the duties of the Polemarch when the Polemarch is absent
or otherwise unable to serve and perform such duties as may be required of him.

Keeper of Records- Keep an accurate and complete account of all records and
transaction of a chapter, conduct correspondence, maintain dated records of death and
other separation, and submit promptly and accurately all reports required of him.

Keeper of Exchequer- shall have the care and custody of all money of the chapter. He
shall pay out money only upon warrants authorized by a chapter and signed by the
Polemarch and Keeper of Records.

Strategus- Shall have charge of approaches to the meeting room when the chapter is in
session. He shall preserve order and decorum, taking care that only members enter or
entire without permission, and perform such other related duties as may be required of
him.

Historian- Shall collect, compile and preserve historical and biographical data for his
chapter and shall submit such data when requested of him. He shall maintain files of all
Kappa Alpha Psi Journals and evidence of the Eta Rho chapter.

Student Government Association Representative- Shall attend all regular meeting as well
a report back of any events of updates.


Section B.     Qualifications for holding office
               A.     All active members that are on academic, social, or disciplinary
                      probation are prohibited from holding office – elected or
                      appointed.
               B.     It shall be the duty of the Executive Board to periodically monitor
                      the progress of the chapter officers, committee chairmen, and other
                      brothers who accept responsibilities of chapter activities. The
                      Executive Board shall offer a plan of assistance if needed with
                      input from the Standards Committee. The Executive Board shall
                      have the power to discharge an officer, committee chairman, or
                      other brothers who continue to ineffectively perform the duties of
                      her position by 2/3 vote.
               C.     If a situation should arise which requires the attention of the
                      Executive Board, it shall be the duty of the Polemarch to
                      circularize or call a Special meeting of the Executive Board. If the
                      Polemarch is unable to call a meeting, the Executive Board may be
                    convened by the Vice Polemarch upon a two-thirds vote of the
                    members.
             D.     A two-thirds vote is necessary for approval of any business acted
                    upon at a Special meeting of the Executive Board. In the case of
                    the unexpired term of all officers except the Polemarch shall have
                    the power to fill the vacancy with the approval of the Executive
                    Board.

Section C.   Selection of Officers
             A.      Elections will be at the conclusion of the spring semester
             B.      Quorum needed to vote nominating it has to be a motion to
                     nominate a person. Secret Ballots will be used for elections.
                     Show of hands for all other issues, membership responsible for
                     elections and President will vote only when needed to break a tie.
             C.      August to May will be the time that elected officers will serve.

Section D.   Filling Vacancies
             A.      When a vacancy occurs then the other officers are expected to step
                     and follow chain of command.
                     a.      Polemarch
                     b.      Vice Polemarch
                     c.      Keeper of Records
                     d.      Keeper of Exchequer
                     e.      Strategus
                     f.      Historian
                     g.      Student Government Association Rep.

                                    ARTICLE V

Section A.   Advisors will be appointed by the current chapter president.

                                   ARTICLE VI

Section A.   Frequency of regular meetings
             A. Meetings will be monthly every first Sunday

Section B.   Quorum
             A. ½ of the membership plus one will serve as quorum for this
                organization

Section C.   Parliamentary Authority
             A. Robert’s Rules of Order will be in use at all meetings

                                   ARTICLE VII

Section A.   Duties and Assessments, Initiations Fee(s)
              A.     Dues are decided by the current president of the chapter
              B.     Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc determines all initiation Fees and
                     nationals dues.



                                 ARTICLE VIII
Section A.    Constitution: Amendments and revisions (Procedure: Any member, at any
regular meeting, may propose a written amendment. An affirmative vote of two-thirds of
the membership shall be required for adoption of an amendment.)

                                 ARTICLE VIII
Section A:    Fund Dispersement
              A. In the event that the organization is to dissolve, any monies left over
              shall be handed over to the National Headquarters of Kappa Alpha Psi
              Fraternity, Inc. Located in Pennsylvania, PA




                                 ARTICLE VIV
Section A: Non Discrimination Clause

              Kappa Alpha Psi, Eta Rho Chapter, will not discriminate on the basis of
              age, color, disability, gender, familial status, height, marital status,
              national origin, political persuasion, race, religion, sexual orientation,
              veteran status or weight.


                                  ARTICLE VV
Section A: Impeachment of Officers.

              All officers of Kappa Alpha Psi, Eta Rho Chapter, may be removed from
              office if they have 75% or the majority of the active brothers in the chapter
              vote against them. This vote will take place in an impeachment hearing to
              be scheduled by the highest ranking officer who is not facing
              impeachment.
