1. Program Reviews
There are only two left on the list, Mike’s certificate and Alan's physics.
Non-triggered were cancelled. Mike asks if cert can be excused since courses are
ACTION ITEM: Dave will check to see if we can delete the certificate from
the triggered list.
2. Improvement of Communications
Survey results dist to cabinet. Info not getting to staff faculty level. We need to work
on this. Dave to send info to Joyce. Mike says we should ask them what would be a
good communication method.
ACTION ITEM: Dave will send the information released at the
expanded cabinet meeting to Joyce.
3. Status of FY04 budget for Academic Affairs
4. FY05 Budget Status & process
No money for part time faculty for spring. Some erroneous assumptions when budget
was formed. Pres will help some. We must find more.
Elements of the problem:
150k grad tuition differential.
150k cost for summer administration.
Misc. Faculty positions that started as pt, went to ft. New hires. Aynsley. Pt
Reason for tomorrow's meeting is to inform and get feedback on how to proceed.
5. Position Reviews by President
Clarification. She will review the overall need with Dave...rather than review positions
each time they come in.
ACTION ITEM: Steve to ask about projections for admissions for spring.
6. Job descriptions for Deans, Department Chairs, Program Coordinators
Needs to be done...soon. We did them wrong. They need to be tweaked based on
format Charles defined.
ACTION ITEM: Dave will reformat, send out for suggestions to deans.
Dawn..indirect cost dist? We were supposed to discuss it further. Dave
decided we will do it the way proposed.
Betsy adams out sick for a while.
Equipment proposals: what next? We need to have all proposals.
Charlie will provide from ETM; that's the only one missing. Special dean's
meeting to do this.
No deans meeting next week. So deans will meet next week for phiosophical
conversation on equipment proposals.
Mike: Summer, next. What's up? Dave will address with ALC tomorrow.
Needs to be on the agenda soon.
