       3) The Best New Free Training Sites for Flash, Photoshop,
       Dreamweaver, FrontPage, and other Adobe and Macromedia

       2 Beginning Flash Tutorials

       Macromedia Flash is an application you can use to create 2 dimension (2D)
       animations and multimedia presentations, mainly for websites and web applications.
       Flash has tools that you use to draw basic objects which are then used to make
       scenes, and these, in turn, can be used to make a movie.

       Here are two Flash Tutorials to get you started using Flash to create animations
       and presentations: Introduction to Macromedia Flash MX 2004 and Introduction
       to Macromedia Flash MX.

       These Flash tutorials show you how to do the following tasks in Flash:

           * Drawing Artwork
           * Using Keyframes
           * Animating an object using motion tweening
June 2007 Newsletter for Free Computer Software Training & Tutorials

       The image below depicts aspects of the Flash environment that you will need to
       become familiar with.

       The Flash Environment

       Stage - This is where the animation occurs and what the user sees. You create
       objects and then animate them so that they enter, exit or remain on the stage.

       Work area - This is the behind the scenes area, where you can create objects and
       get them ready to present and animate on the stage.

       Toolbox - The toolbox provides you with the tools with which you can draw and
       update objects and change text.

       Layers - Layers operate like transparencies, permitting you to have many objects
       doing things simultaneously. You see objects on different layers only when they do
       not take up the same space.

       Timeline - This is how you control the order of events and the timing of events in
       your Flash animation. The timeline is made up of frames and one frame shows the
       objects on the stage at that one point in time.
