Perth Christmas Heritage House Tour The Canadian Federation of University Women, Perth and District, will showcase 10 private homes in and around Perth, as well as the Perth Court House, during their annual Christmas Heritage House Tour, December 7, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All 11 sites are excellent examples of Perth’s heritage architecture. Seven of the sites are within the historical town’s boundaries and date from the early 1800’s to 1939. Included is Haggart House, one of the earliest stone houses built in the area, overlooking Perth’s beautiful Stewart Park. Four historic houses included on the tour are in rural settings just beyond the town limits. One of the houses was painted by renowned Canadian artist James Keirstead. Included with your ticket is a map to all sites, and a brochure describing the houses’ architectural styles. No doubt touring will make you hungry! Lunch ($8.00) will be served at St. Paul’s United Church, 25 Gore Street West, Perth. Or you can visit one of Perth’s excellent restaurants or pubs. Don’t miss afternoon tea and cookies, served at Perth’s newest hotel, Codes Mill Inn and Spa, 82 Peter Street., This is a chance to see Perth’s heritage architecture first hand, and enjoy small town hospitality. All proceeds from the tour fund CFUW education grants. Tickets are $25.00, available November 1st in person at Shadowfax, 4 Gore Street East, Perth, and Rowats Flowers and Gifts, 40 Beckwith Street North, Smiths Falls.
