Florida Air Academy: Activities: International Applicants
Each year, a limited number of applicants from outside .. the United States are admitted to the Academy. Prerequisites for admission include a reasonable command of the English language or attendance at the Academy’s Summer Session prior to Fall enrollment. Applicants should follow the procedure below if applying via the Internet: Download and complete the PDF Application Contract Form, by clicking the link "Application Contract Form", which can be found below, as well as throughout the Admissions section of this site. 1. Complete and sign the Application Contract Form. 2. Mail two recent photographs of the applicant, along with a check or money order in the amount of $100.00 payable to: Florida Air Academy, 1950 South Academy Drive, Melbourne, Florida, 32901 3. Mail a copy of the applicant’s latest report card and any other transcript information that would indicate his academic standing. 4. Mail two letters of reference, preferably from the applicant’s English and Math teachers. 5. Upon acceptance, each applicant from a foreign country will be provided with a Certificate of Enrollment (Immigration Form I-20), the form necessary to obtain a student visa (F-1) for entry into the United States.

We hereby request that our son (ward) ____________________________________________________ be enrolled as a Cadet in the Florida Air Academy ) for the basic tuition, room and board as set forth above, Melbourne, Inc. for the academic school year and agree to pay * ($ and such other charges and fees as set forth in the Florida Air Academy Brochure and its supplements. Applicants applying for Day Student status must maintain full time residency with his parent(s) in Brevard County. It is understood that this agreement shall become effective only upon acceptance of this application by the Academy, and that on such acceptance, the Academy agrees to provide said son (ward) during the academic year with board, services and the courses for which he shall be enrolled, and that the rights of the respective parties hereto shall be pursuant to and in accordance with the terms hereof and as set forth in the Academy Brochure or any supplement thereto for the current year, which have been examined by the undersigned and which are made a part hereof, including the answers as given on the back of this contract. It is understood that said son (ward) is enrolled for the entire academic year and that Florida Air Academy Melbourne, Inc. has obligated itself in regard to the number of faculty, size of facilities, amount of supplies and equipment and the nature of its programs in reliance upon such enrollment. No refund or reduction of any charges will be made due to the withdrawal, dismissal, suspension or absence of any student for any reason and all sums payable under this contract are immediately due and payable in full upon such withdrawal, dismissal, suspension, or absence. The fact that the school allows tuition to be paid in two or more installments does not create a fractional contract or in any way relieve the parent of the responsibility for the entire year’s tuition and fees. The parent also agrees that the school shall have the right to withhold the transcript of the child’s academic records until all tuition and fees have been paid. In the event this contract is broken and Florida Air Academy Melbourne, Inc. employs an attorney in defense or enforcement of this agreement, or collection of any amount due hereunder, the undersigned, jointly and severally, agree to pay all costs of such action including a reasonable attorney’s fee and attorney’s fees on appeal. We hereby authorize Florida Air Academy Melbourne, Inc. to issue Debits and Credits between accounts in order to maintain a credit balance. I enclose a nonrefundable Application Fee of $100.00 and understand that a Tuition Deposit of $1,400.00 is due upon acceptance of this application. Upon acceptance, the Application Fee and Tuition Deposit are not refundable. Applicants may elect to submit the Application Fee and Tuition Deposit at the same time (total of $1,500.00). Doing so will minimize processing delays. However, formal acceptance will only take place upon issuance of a letter of acceptance.
