INTERNSHIPS FOR ONE YEAR

      Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to
       determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to
       diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or color
       blindness.
      Prescribe, supply, fit and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision
       aids.
      Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting
       arrangements and safety factors
      Provide patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as cataract and laser vision
       correction, with pre- and post-operative care.
      Remove foreign bodies from the eye
      Prescribe therapeutic procedures to correct or conserve vision.
      Provide vision therapy and low vision rehabilitation. Assessed patients for
       vision deficiencies, i.e., complete binocular analysis, ocular health
       examinations, spectacle prescriptions, cosmetic and therapeutic contacts.
      Provided optometric rehabilitation, prescribed, fitted and adjusted contact
       lenses.
      Obtained and recorded patient's preliminary case history
      Testing for near and far acuity, depth perception, macula integrity, color
       perception, and visual field, utilizing ocular testing apparatus.
      Instructed patients in care and used of glasses and contact lenses
      Maintained inventory of materials and cleaned instruments
      Active participation in in-house seminars

PROJECT DONE

     A study on Comparison of Astigmatism after Keratoplasty in Keratoconus Vs
others. It was a retrospective study for a period of one year under the guidance of
DR Freddy T Simon, including 30 patients who underwent keratoplasty in Little
Flower Hospital for different reasons
     Result: Astigmatism is more in case of keratoconus after keratoplasty when
compared to other conditions.
