IMPORTANT DEADLINES
December 31, 2001 – Renewal applications must be postmarked by this date. Delin-
quent renewals will be assessed a $25.00 penalty fee. The Real Estate License Law
prohibits licensees who fail to renew by this deadline from engaging in any activity
requiring a real estate license.
January 1, 2002 – The requirements of Act 178 of the 2001 Regular Session become
effective relative to sex offender notification in written agreements and contracts
entered into on or after this date. (See related story)
2002 Continuing Education Seminar Program
The LREC will present five seminar series beginning in January through October 2002. Each series
will include the four-hour Louisiana Real Estate License Law course that is mandatory for license
renewal.
