Spotlight on Volunteers
Sue Evison
Sue was born in Aylesbury, England. She married in 1978 and moved to Canada in 1981. After 35 years as a hair stylist, she retired in July 2008.The decision to volunteer at the Living Centre was partly influenced by Pat Kelly (a resident), ”Who has been like a mom to me”. Her interests include many sports such as walking, biking and horse riding. She also exercises 5 days a week with a neighbor. Sue volunteers Wednesdays and does activities with the 3rd floor residents. Thank you for your commitment to our residents and we always look forward to see your cheerful smile.

Salute to Staff
Margo Scott
Margo was born and raised in Hull P.Q. She is married and has 5 children and 3 grandchildren, whom she is very proud of. After moving to Ottawa, Margo worked private duty in patient’s homes and realized she enjoyed working with seniors. She is a retired life member of the Legion in Russell and Greely and served for over 39 years in various positions on the Ladies Auxiliary. She began working at Orchard View Living Centre seven years ago as it was closer to home and finds the staff and residents very nice. Keep up the great work, Margo.
Do you need Footcare Services?
Kim McKay is a Registered Foot Care Nurse who comes in every 2nd Monday and Wednesday. Some of her services include toenail shaping and removal of calluses and corns. Prices are very reasonable. Please book an appointment through the nursing station if your feet require attention.

RESIDENT PROFILE - Pat Kelly
Pat was born and raised in nearby Vars, Ontario. After she married Cecil, she moved to Leitrim and lived on Highway 31(Bank Street) for 40 years with her 5 children and a barn with 4 ponies. She was very involved in raising and showing horses at local county fairs and was especially proud of her stallion pony “Wee Willy” who won many ribbons. Pat and Cecil were also members of the Antique
Car Club. Their first antique car was a 2 door Model A Ford. They travelled together to attend car shows and helped organize many car rally’s. She has 14 grandchildren who live nearby; one of whom was married this summer. Pat moved to Orchard View Living Centre this year and states she really enjoys the friendship she shares with other residents and the wonderful staff.
