							                     Nevada Business Brokers Association
Congratulations! By obtaining a Nevada Business Broker Permit, you have differentiated yourself from
the other 27,000 Nevada Real Estate Licensees, because you have demonstrated that you have the basic
knowledge required to professionally represent Buyers and Sellers in their acquisition and sale of
businesses. By doing so, you are also invited to further distinguish yourself by becoming a “Charter
Member” of the new Nevada Business Brokers Association (“NBBA”), which has recently received
approval as an Exempt Corporation under Section 501 by the IRS.

The principal brokers of several of the State’s leading business brokerage firms were instrumental in
passing SB315. Subsequently, those brokers were requested to assist the Nevada Real Estate Division in
revising NRS 645 and NAC 645, creating the Business Broker Permit, and writing and implementing the
Business Broker Exam. We can be proud that Nevada is now the only state that requires such a permit,
which puts us in the forefront in the quest to raise the standards for the business brokerage industry.

California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and many other states, have strong, well-established business broker
associations. We believe that the time is right for our industry to join together to form our own
association, the purposes of which are to:

 Develop the highest standards of professionalism among the members,
 Establish and encourage members to adhere to a uniform code of ethics standards,
 Provide a strong, united voice before government bodies (e.g. State Legislature) and agencies
(e.g. Real Estate Commission), thus protecting the interests of our industry and members,
 Elevate, maintain, and improve member educational standards,
 Serve as a forum to share information and experiences, and to solve problems,
 Establish standard forms and practices,
 Increase the visibility and legitimacy of our industry,
 Promote public awareness of the profession of business brokerage, particularly the benefits
derived through the use of a professional business broker by business owners,
 Protect our citizens from becoming the victims of unlawful out of state brokers,
 Decrease the potential for individual broker liability, and
 Serve as arbitrator for disputes among Association members.

The NBBA intends to become an affiliate of the International Business Brokers Association (“IBBA”).
That affiliation will broaden the educational and networking opportunities available for our members,
through the tremendous resources of that national organization.

As a Member of the NBBA, you will be entitled to numerous benefits, including, but not limited to, the
following:

 Participation in formal educational programs, including IBBA courses and workshops conducted
        by Certified Instructors.
 Participation in informal networking events and interesting presentations.
 Participation on Association committees and task forces, when established.
 Participation in establishing priorities and events, and giving direction to the Association.
 Use of the Nevada Business Broker logo on your letterhead, business card, and website.
 Access to standardized forms in electronic format, when developed.
 Listing your name as member on the Association’s website, when developed.
 Listing your businesses for sale on the Association’s website, when developed.

If you would like to be able to say that you are a “Charter Member” of the Nevada Business Brokers
Association, that you were “there at the inception,” and believe that these benefits are worth the $100
initiation fee, please complete and return the enclosed membership application form. The NBBA Board
of Directors will contact you with the 2008 NBBA agenda, once the Board is able to determine how
many members the Association will have and are able to establish a budget and program plan.

On behalf of all the NBBA Board Members, we are all looking forward to meeting you at our first
Association meeting, and thank you, in advance, for your consideration in this important matter.
