The Path of a Sperm Cell

Hi! I’m a sperm cell! I’m going to
take you on my journey through the
 male reproductive tract! Let’s go!
First, I am produced in the
seminiferous tubules, which are
    in the testes, of course.
(Hint: numbers 2 and 4 are the
                seminiferous tubules!)
After my “birth”, I “mature” in
the epididymis, which lies just
       outside the testis.
The epididymis is a coiled tube
as well, and it connects the testis
                        to its vas deferens.
        1: Epididymis
        2: Head of epididymis
        3: Lobules of epididymis
        4: Body of epididymis
        5: Tail of epididymis
        6: Duct of epididymis
7: Deferent duct (ductus deferens or vas deferens)
Going back to an earlier
      diagram…

Number 5, the efferent duct, leads to
          the epididymis.
  As you probably
 guessed, we sperm
 next travel through
 the vas deferens, a
 canal that connects
the epididymis to the
       urethra.
 Here’s a diagram that puts
everything into perspective…
