Be a Part of the Excitement in Hope Central!
Join us for the 6th Annual March
               for Human Dignity!

ffirming a person’s dignity can begin with the smallest of
gestures, like providing clean clothing, including new men’s
and women’s underwear, socks and t-shirts. We need your
help to make sure that we can provide these items to
   those who desperately need them.
On President’s Day, Monday, February 20th, the Los Angeles Mission
will join hundreds of other supporters to march the streets of downtown
Los Angeles, proclaiming that dignity rebuilds people and can start with
as small a gesture as providing new underwear for someone who has
no resources to buy them him or her self.

                                                 Chris Cormier, conducted
                                                 an informal survey to

                                                 butter and pumpkin pie.
More than 3,000 pounds of chicken, 400 pounds of pasta, and 125 gallons of cheese sauce for macaroni were prepared. Add all
of that to the 900 pounds of mixed vegetables cooked and the 375 pies baked for the day’s meal, and that equates to one busy kitchen!
Hundreds of wrapped gifts were distributed to the children of the area. Each child was given a gift appropriate to their age and
gender. All of the gifts were donated by the public and individually counted and wrapped by hundreds of volunteers.
And Santa made a special appearance. He brought Mrs. Claus along with him, and something rarely seen in downtown Los Angeles
… snow (although it was Hollywood magic and not the cold variety)!
In this past year, we served over 460,000 meals, provided more than 127,000 nights
of warm and safe lodging, and distributed more than 158,000 articles of clothing
for those in need. We like to view this event as a way to help others and celebrate all the
ways God has blessed us throughout the year.
“Christmas is such a special time” said Marshall McNott, president of the Los Angeles
Mission. “It is a time of joy and blessing. We celebrate the birth of Jesus and share hope with
people who have forgotten about hope. Our goal with this event was to share God’s love with
every person, to serve them and show them respect, and to open the possibility of beginning
a new life of dignity off the streets with God’s unconditional love.”

Since I came to the Anne Douglas Center,
my life has changed. My dignity is back…
I am saved by the blood of the lamb. God
has given me a new life, a high rank of
dignity and a better life ahead to share a
life with a man of God, so that we may
be a blessing to our children and grand-
children and show them the way.

Coming here to the Anne Douglas Center has been a blessing
from God. He has placed people in my life to show me that I can
be something; that I no longer need to feel hopeless or helpless.
I now have hope because I found the help I needed. This place,
which I call “God’s house” has been so wonderful, I learned
to respect myself because here, I am respected.
