Camp 2009

More Info
									Dear Parents / Guardians,

RE: Music Camp 2010

As you are aware, our Senior Music Camp begins Friday 26 February through to Sunday 28
February. A final Concert will be held on the Sunday afternoon from 3.15pm – 4.30pm, to which
we extend a warm invitation to all family and friends. Attending ensembles for 2010 are the
Senior Concert Band, Senior Choir, and Senior Strings.

Our Senior Music Camp is designed to welcome new members to our musical community and
help build relations between the younger and older members of the Senior Program. Further,
such a Camp provides students with a greater understanding (and enhanced performance
ability) of some of the year’s repertoire, through intensive workshops and rehearsals.

Alexandra Conference Centre provides facilities for students to use in free time (as outlined on
the attached schedule), and include a swimming pool, ovals and volleyball courts, and a games
room where students can play pool, air hockey and table tennis. There is a small charge for
each of the games room facilities.

Before leaving school for Camp on Friday 26, attending musicians will participate in Periods 1-4
with all relevant equipment for those lessons, and should wear sports uniform to school. Camp
students will then meet at 1pm in the Music Hangar ready for departure at 1.30pm.

To assist us in seeing that students meet Camp expectations, would you please discuss the
following points with your children prior to leaving for Camp.
     • Students will be required to help in serving and cleaning duties associated with meals.
N.B. Extra costs for additional cleaning incurred by the School due to said duties not being carried out
will be passed on to the students
    • Students are responsible for applying safety measures against sunburn, including use
of sunscreen and protective clothing (hats, sun shirts etc)
    • Students are bound by the same code of conduct on Camp as they are at school.

Please feel free to contact your child/ren at Camp during the free time (as outlined on the
attached Camp Schedule). However, students are required to have their mobile phones and
other electronic devices turned off during workshop and rehearsal activities.
