According to section 6 of Real Estate Settlement Act (RESPA), Qualified written Request (QWR) is the notice sent by a borrower or the Attorney of borrower to their loan servicer asking for details of the transactions with the borrower. The loan servicer must provide a written acknowledgment within 20 business days of receipt of the request. And make appropriate corrections to the accounts if any and reply to the notice within 60 business days of the receipt of notice. Section 6 of RESPA which has a 3 year statute of limitations, provides for actual damages, additional damages, and costs for individuals or classes of individuals in circumstances where the services are shown to have violated the requirements of Section 6.
