Draft South East Plan

Regional and local authorities shall
include policies and proposals in their
plans, strategies and investment
programmes to help reduce the region’s
carbon dioxide emissions by at least
20% below 1990 levels by 2010 and by
at least 25% below 1990 levels by 2015.

A target for 2026 will be developed and
incorporated in the first review of the
Plan (and no later than 2011) (Policy
CC2)

All development should incorporate
energy efficiency best practice
measures

A minimum of 10% of the energy
requirement to be provided by
renewable resources generated on-
site.

Combined heat and power

Woking LDF Core Strategy Policy Sustainable construction

Development will be refused unless it:
• Achieves a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions (against current
  Building Regulations)
• Is carbon neutral (greenfield sites)
• Adapts to climate change impacts in design of buildings and
  open spaces
• Provides a sustainable water management system (runoff and
  potable water)

Household Extensions:
• Extensions to existing dwellings will be required to meet best
  practice standards for energy efficiency
