Head of School Job Description:
Position: Head of School                           Length of Appointment: 12 months

Reports to: Canonical Administrator

The Head of School shall serve as the instructional leader, and chief executive
for the school community. In that capacity the Head shall hold final
responsibility for the depth and rigor of the curriculum, authenticity of the
communities Catholic Identity, student safety, financial planning and
management, and facility operations.

The Head of School shall be expected to work collaboratively with the
Canonical Administrator, School Board, Board of Pastors, school staff and Parents
to create a vibrant Catholic community dedicated to the Educational
excellence and Emotional welfare of the students attending the School

General Responsibilities
    1. Overall responsibility for all aspects of School operation and management
    2. Chair of Administration and Academic Committees serving on Admissions, Business and
       Operations committees.

Academic
    1. Chairs the Academic Committee responsible for:
          a. Program structure
          b. Standards and expectations
          c. Evaluations
          d. Faculty duties
          e. Faculty appraisals
          f. Faculty promotion (with advice from School Board)
          g. Class Schedules
          h. Faculty development
          i. Preparation of Staffing Plans for School with the Grade Level Head’s

Administration
    1. Chairs the Administration Committee responsible for
          a. Identification of administrative tasks
          b. Delegation of tasks to staff
          c. Ensuring delegated tasks are satisfactorily performed
          d. Paperwork
          e. Recordkeeping

    1. Coordinates all aspects of Schools business and financial Operations, as a member of
       the business committee and in consultation with the School Business Manager and
       Director of Advancement and Development, including:
           a. Preparation and Management of School budget, in coordination with the School
              Business Manager
           b. Preparation of School Business Plan, in coordination with the School Business
              Manager
           c. Development of School Marketing plan
           d. Creation of School fundraising organization
           e. Assessment of equipment needs and resultant financial planning

Operations
    1. Coordinates all aspects of School Operations, as a member of the Operations
       committee and in consultation with the School Office Manager, including:
          a. Facility Operations
          b. Facility scheduling
          c. Appointment of staff
          d. Staff appraisal
          e. Staff promotion (with advice from School Board)
          f. General staffing matters
          g. Staff development
          h. Facilities long-term planning

Admissions
    1. Coordinates all aspects of School Admissions, as a member of the Admissions committee
       and in consultation with the Director of Advancement and Development, including:
          a. Admission policy
          b. Admission Guidelines
          c. Admission paperwork
          d. Admission interviews
