SUBJECT: Intrusion Detection System (IDS) Equipment Approval
       The IDS equipment listed below is approved for use when employed in the tested
applications and configurations. (* Indicates Newly Added Equipment)
Protection Level (PL) 1 Nuclear and Below: The following IDS equipment is approved for
use in the protection of all PL1-4 resources:

Command, Control and Display Subsystems:
  AN/GSS-20 Small Permanent Communications and Display Segment (SPCDS)
  AN/GSS-29 (SPCDS)
  AN/FSQ-143(V) Weapons Storage and Security System (WS3) Annunciator

  bases and 100m with solid concrete bases
  Fiber Optics Intrusion Detection System (FO-IDS), Fiber Optic Sensor System Models 100
  and 200
  Southwest (SW) Microwave 385 Monostatic Sensor, up to 100m
  SW Microwave 310 Bi-static Sensor, up to 100m
The following AN/GSS-42 sensors in combination are approved for use as a line of detection:
  Enhanced DTR 90 Vertical Taut Wire (VTW) Sensor, the DTR 90 “Y” VTW Sensor, or
  the VTW 400 Sensor installed at the top of the fence with any one of the following sensors
  installed on the fence
     Inertia-guard Fence Sensor
     E-FLEX Perimeter Protection System
     Fence Protection System 2 (FPS 2)
     Fence Protection System 2-2R (FPS 2-2R)
PL 1 Non-Nuclear and Below: In addition to all of the above components, the following
equipment is approved for use in the protection of all non-nuclear resources:

Command, Control and Display Subsystems:
  Standard Annunciator System (STAS)
  Vindicator SMART with Graphics Display Version 2.39 and SAW Version 3.9
Assessment Subsystems: No Additional
Interior Sensors: No Additional
Exterior Sensors: No Additional
PL 2 and Below: In addition to all of the above components, the following equipment is
approved for use in the protection of PL 2 and below assets:
Command, Control and Display Subsystems: No Additional
Assessment Subsystems: No Additional
Interior Sensors: No Additional
Exterior Sensors: No Additional
PL 3 and Below: In addition to all of the above components, the following equipment is
approved for use in the protection of PL 3 and below assets:

Command, Control and Display Subsystems:
  TASS Annunciator Version 3.1

Assessment Subsystems:
  Wide-Area Surveillance Thermal Imager (WSTI) (cooled/uncooled)
  Short Range Thermal Imager; Fixed/Mounted (SRTI F/M)
Interior Sensors: No Additional

Exterior Sensors:
  Eltec 864 PIR Sensor
PL 4: In addition to all of the above components, the following equipment is approved for use
in the protection of PL 4 assets:
Command, Control and Display Subsystems: No Additional
Assessment Subsystems: No Additional
Interior Sensors: No Additional
Exterior Sensors: No Additional
       Certified Air Force Test Site: Test Area C-3, Eglin AFB FL, is approved for conducting
operational tests and evaluations on all IDS equipment.
       Deleted Items: None
      This memorandum supersedes the 1 Apr 2002 IDS approval memorandum. My POC is
