               Findings and Analysis
               The consumer decision to use credit or debit is affected by the type and amount of the transac-
               tion. New payment technologies, as well as card network policy decisions, could alter existing
               choices, particularly for small value transactions. Decisions for e-commerce transactions are
               based primarily on perceived security, as well as the availability of credit cards. Latinos are less
               likely and Asians are more likely to use credit cards for all transaction types.
