ISRO/ASI Sponsors Two Indian Students to participate in
60th IAC at Daejeon, Korea
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Astronautical Society of
India (ASI) encourages talented Indian students to participate in annual
International Astronautical Congress through sponsorship from 2006 onwards.
This year ISRO/ASI sponsors two Students to participate in 60th International
Astronautical Congress (60th IAC) to be held in Daejeon, Korea during October 12-
16, 2009. This event is organized by International Astronautical Federation (IAF),
International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and International Institute of Space
Law (IISL) and hosted by Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). The
selected students are:
1. Shri Shanti Swaroop Kandala of Vignan Institute of Technology &
Science , Nalgonda, AP, presenting a paper titled “Finite Element
Analysis for sandwich beams” in the 60th IAC.
2. Shri Utsav Mukharjee of National Law University, Jodhpur, presenting
a paper titled “Determining liability for damage caused due to debris
in outer space: portal to a new regime” in the 60th IAC.
These students are selected by an Expert Committee from 8 applications
whose paper (as first author) is accepted for presentation in the 60th IAC. The
Committee technically evaluated the papers authored by these students for quality
of the content, originality, novelty and relevant to current space activities.
The sponsorship includes registration fee, economy class return air ticket,
accommodation and living expenses as per the norms.
