Menu Icons


Icon                      Description


                          Send and receive e-mail, PIN and SMS messages. Open and view phone call logs if enabled.
                          NOTE: Devices using BlackBerry Handheld Software 4.2 and later will receive an asterisk in the
                          upper left corner of the Messages icon, indicating a new message has been received.




                          Send and receive e-mail from a BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) integrated e-mail account.
                          NOTE: Devices using BlackBerry Handheld Software 4.2 and later will receive an asterisk in the
                          upper left corner of the BIS E-mail icon, indicating a new message has been received.
Place and mute phone calls and put phone calls on hold. Set call forwarding, call barring, and
initiate conference calls. Open and view phone call logs.
NOTE: Devices using BlackBerry Handheld Software 4.2 and later will receive an asterisk in the
upper left corner of the Phone icon, indicating a missed call.

Set the device Alarm to sound at a specific time every day or only on weekdays.

                        Turn off the device to conserve battery power. All queued messages are delivered to the
                        device when it is powered on or when the device powers itself on using the Auto On/Off
                        feature.


                        Selecting Turn Power Off does not guarantee that the device radio will remain off. Use the
                        Turn Wireless Off option to control the radio when it might interfere with other radio
                        communications.

Battery Status Icons


Icon                        Description


                            Full battery power indicator.



                            Low battery power indicator.



                            Charging battery indicator.



                            Insert battery indicator. May also indicate an incompatible battery.




Network Status Icons


Icon                   Description


                       Indicates full wireless coverage with high speed data network.



                       Indicates that the device is attempting to register on the EDGE network, and is still able to
                       place or receive calls as well as send or receive SMS messages.
Indicates connection to the GPRS data network and the ability and send/receive email,
PIN, and SMS messages. Also indicated the ability to place/receive phone calls and browse
web pages.


Indicates that the device is attempting to register on the GPRS network, and is still able to
place or receive calls as well as send or receive SMS messages.



Indicates that the device is able to make and receive calls as well as send and receive
SMS messages.


Indicates that the device is not receiving a signal. This could be a result of not being in an
area of wireless coverage. The device will be unable to use the phone, messaging and
browsing functionality.

Indicates that the device can place emergency calls only. The device will have the ability
to place emergency calls even if it is locked with a password or your SIM card is removed.



The wireless signal is turned off.



Home Zone indicator. Indicated that the device is in the network Home Zone. This icon
might appear if you subscribe to a Home Zone plan. Contact customer care for more
information on Home and City Zones.

Roaming indicator. Indicates that the device is roaming. If the roaming indicator appears
beside the network type (such as GSM, GPRS), you are roaming into another wireless
network coverage area the is not part of your home network. Contact customer care for
                       more information on roaming.

Filed message. You can only file e-mail message if you have integrated you handheld with an
enterprise e-mail account.

Unopened (unread) MMS.
          Message with an attachment.




          High importance.

Address Book Icons


Icon      Description


          Indicates a Pause has been inserted to a Phone number.



          Indicates a Wait has been inserted to a Phone number.



          Address Book entry is attached; this icon appears in e-mail and PIN message that contain Address
          Book attachments.

                                Phone call is in progress; this icon appears on the Active Call screen and
                                records the length of the call.
The current volume level; this icon appears on the Active Call screen and
whenever you click Volume on the menu in one of the applications on your
