Also known as the `Festival of Lights`.
Celebrated with an Akhand Path.
Remembers the creation of the Khalsa by Guru
Gobind Singh.
Celebrated by Sikhs through archery contests,
wrestling matches and military manouevres.
Processions through the streets led by Sikhs
dressed as the Panj Piare.
The Nishan Sahib is renewed during this
festival.
Created by Guru Gobind Singh so that
Sikhs would not celebrate the Hindu
festival of Holi.
Giving each other gifts and having a
special meal in the langar.
Remembers Guru Hargobind`s bravery in
fighting for the freedom of all.
This is a traditional time for Sikhs to undergo the
Amrit ceremony.
A special time for practising sewa in the
community.
Celebrated with bonfires, fireworks and by
lighting lamps at home and in the gurdwara.
A time for reflecting carefully on the life of Guru
Gobind Singh and for thinking about the
meaning of the 5 Ks.
