Developed memoir writing and downsizing seminars to present to senior centers, churches, and assisted living communities. Organizations 2007- Present Snohomish County Council on Aging Advisory Board Member This is a group of 30 citizens who are charged with advising the Snohomish County Council on issues involving senior citizens. I am a member of two sub- committees. The Senior Center Committee with the goal of assisting the creation and growth of our centers. The Finance Committee is charged with dispensing grants to senior organizations. 2007 - Present Snohomish County Human Services Discretionary Funds Allocation We are a committee who meet once a month and make small grants to seniors who have exhausted all other funding options. Case managers within the county bring applications that meet specific criteria and we determine whether we can help the client. This is a very rewarding volunteer committee that I am a part of. 2001 - Present Huntington’s Society of America – Board Member This board is a member of the National organization to raise money and assist with services to HD supporters and their loved ones. I am currently the liaison between the support groups and our board. I attend support groups, assist our social worker, and report to the board with participant’s needs and concerns. 2004 - 2005 Past Board Member – Elder’s Last Wish This organization was founded by a group of individuals, including me, to offer and grant wishes to seniors in their last months of life. 2008 – Snohomish County Senior Consortium – member This is a new group of community and business leaders who are organizing to plan for seniors in the coming years. The goal is to be proactive with regard to the quality of life for our senior population. Event Responsibility Experience 1994-2001 Windermere Foundation Golf Tournament – Co-founded a golf tournament and coordinated it for four years. We raised approximately $75,000 per year for Housing Hope in Snohomish County. Procured golfers, sponsors, and donations. 1985-1995 Immaculate Conception School Auction – Just one of a huge number of parents who raised money for school programs. 2002-Present Huntington’s Disease of America Auction – Worked in all areas of this auction. Tested, purchased and implemented software to take this fundraiser to the next level. 2002 Juried Art Show – Worked with the Art’s Council in Snohomish Washington to create a show at Sunrise at Snohomish Assisted Living. We brought the community to the facility.
