Colour:                 Dark red with a red tinge

Nose:                   A full nose of dark blueberries, cassis and some leafy Cabernet notes, dark and round.

Palate:                 The palate is round and full, the Merlot influence rounding out the palate, solid with
                        fine tannins.

Cellar:                 Drink now to 2010


Winemaker Comments:     Berry fruit flavours are woven with hints of earth, black olive and tobacco. Intense
                        inky dark berry fruit combining the complexity of Wrattonbully with the intensity of
                        Coonawarra.

Growing Season/         Coonawarra - 2005 will be recorded as an early season, with fruit all in before May,
Vintage Notes:          however fruit reached sugar ripeness before flavour and tannin ripeness, necessitating
                        leaving the grapes to hang until unusually high baumes before they were flavour ripe.

                        Wrattonbully - Vintage started at least 2 weeks ahead of average– again early
                        varieties benefiting from this. Interestingly, the effects on sugar maturity did stay
                        ahead of average, whilst the red varieties were picked at historically ‘ideal’ times
                        – this was primarily a function of waiting for full flavour maturity.
