NTEU Morning Star Scholarship

More Info
									   NTEU Morning Star Scholarship
The Morning Star Scholarship was established in 1996 by Pamela and Alan Harris to assist not
only those affected by personal and financial hardship but all Australian Indigenous students
who have shown determination to realise their potential in their studies at Charles Darwin
University. The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) is sponsoring this Scholarship in
2009, as part of their continued focus on supporting initiatives that provide opportunities for
 Australian Indigenous students.

Australian Indigenous students awarded the scholarship will feel recognised as students with a
highly regarded track record and will feel pride in having been selected. As well as improving
career prospects, it will give recipients an incentive to strive and achieve excellence in their
 studies.

The Scholarship is available for Australian Indigenous students enrolled in their final year of
study at Charles Darwin University. Awardees in three-year degree programs will receive
assistance in their final year. In the case of four-year programs such as Law, students will have
the option of applying for the Scholarship for their third year to assist with the high cost of
course materials, or for assistance in their final year.

The value of the Scholarships is $1,000 for a full time student to be paid in semester 1 subject
 to confirmation of enrolment.

 • not have previously held a Morning Star Scholarship for a period greater than one semester.
