 What Is “Goodness”?
 How is God’s Goodness Revealed?
 What Should My Response be to the
    Goodness of God
        Goodness is the Unique
          Character of God
 “Why do you call me good?" Jesus
answered. "No-one is good— except God
    alone” Mark 10:18
 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Spirit and power, and how he went
around doing good and healing all who
were under the power of the devil, because
God was with him. Acts 10:38
How is God’s Goodness
The Goodness of God in Creation

 God saw all that he had made, and it was
very good. And there was evening, and
    there was morning—the sixth day
                             Genesis 1:31
       The Goodness of God in
 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man
to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for
    him.” Genesis 2:18
 “Now I am about to go the way of all the earth.
You know with all your heart and soul that not
one of all the good promises the LORD your God
gave you has failed. Every promise has been
fulfilled; not one has failed.” Joshua 23:14
        The Goodness of God in
 He had begun his journey from Babylon on the first
day of the first month, and he arrived in Jerusalem
on the first day of the fifth month, for the gracious
hand of his God was on him.
                                              Ezra 7:9
 And may I have a letter to Asaph, keeper of the
king’s forest, so he will give me timber to make
beams for the gates of the citadel by the temple and
for the city wall and for the residence I will occupy?"
And because the gracious hand of my God was
upon me, the king granted my requests.

                                           Nehemiah 2:8
The Goodness of God in His
 You intended to harm me, but God
intended it for good to accomplish what
is now being done, the saving of many
    lives. Genesis 50:20
 And we know that in all things God
works for the good of those who love
him, who have been called according to
    his purpose. Romans 8:28
What is My Responsibility?

 Be careful to obey all these regulations I
am giving you, so that it may always go
well with you and your children after you,
because you will be doing what is good and
right in the eyes of the LORD your God.
                         Deuteronomy 12:28

 How beautiful on the mountains are the
feet of those who bring good news, who
proclaim peace, who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion,
    "Your God reigns!" Isaiah 52:7

 He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk
humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
           Doing God’s Will

 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of
this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind. Then you will be
able to test and approve what God’s will
is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
                              Romans 12:2
                  Doing Good
 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in
advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress
these things, so that those who have trusted in God
may be careful to devote themselves to doing what
is good. These things are excellent and profitable for
    everyone. Titus 3:8
 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though
they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your
good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
                                          1 Peter 2:12
        Ultimate Responsibility

 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but
what is good. Anyone who does what is good
is from God. Anyone who does what is evil
has not seen God. 3 John 1:11
