Hampton Roads Institute for Nonprofit Leadership Nonprofits at the Crossroads Nonprofit leaders face diverse challenges in pursuing the missions of their organizations and delivering meaningful results to the communities they serve. Often, leaders come to a crossroads in decision-making whether it is in regard to their board of directors, strategic planning, or the pursuit for funding. These vital decisions have an impact on the accountability of the organization. The Hampton Roads Institute for Nonprofit Leadership Conference delivers knowledge and tools to sharpen the leadership and management skills of nonprofit executives and board members. Through this conference, VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads is further able to achieve its mission of providing quality leadership development and professional training programs for nonprofit boards and staff. New in 2007! Conference Presenters Keynote: Richard L. Moyers, Program Officer, Meyer Foundation Prior to joining Meyer in 2003, Moyers spent four years as Executive Director of the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO). Under his leadership, OANO established a public policy program and became one of the first state associations to adopt the Standards for Excellence ethics and accountability program. Moyers is the author of The Nonprofit Chief Executive’s Ten Basic Responsibilities and Daring to Lead 2006, a report on a national survey of nearly 2,000 nonprofit executives. Kay Sprinkel Grace, Founder and Principal of Transforming Philanthropy, LLC, is a renowned speaker, writer and thinker in the field of philanthropy and nonprofit organizational behavior. Grace is known for her systemic approach to donor and fund development. Veena Pankaj, Project Manager for Innovation Network, Inc., brings knowledge and direct experience in participatory program evaluation and organizational capacity building. Ms. Pankaj serves as a lead consultant to nonprofits and foundations in the planning and implementation of program evaluations. Cynthia Parker, Senior Associate, Interaction Institute for Social Change, delivers training, consulting, coaching, and facilitation services and leads new product development efforts. She helps build collaborative skills, address specific workplace issues, develop strategic plans and design multi-stakeholder planning processes.
