With sales in excess of 100 million albums and ranked as one of the greatest masters of hard rock, Deep Purple are back in the
country for a national tour in April 2010, playing full concerts in Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and
Perth as part of their highly anticipated visit to Australia. Tickets on sale 8th February 2010.

Deep Purple are truly a merciless hard rock machine – and iconic names as the pioneers in heavy metal and hard rock with classic
hits such as :”Smoke On The Water”, “Black Night”, “Highway Star”, “Hush” and many more. They are one of the world’s hardest
touring bands, who along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath were once listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as “the
world’s loudest band’. The band have been called intense, fearless, full of fire, with and passion. Rock writer Jeff Miers wrote that
being at a Deep Purple concert is “unlike anything else I’d ever heard. And it quite literally changed my life”.

Deep Purple comprises of Ian Gillan (Vocals), Ian Paice (Drums), Roger Glover (bass), Steve Morse (guitar) and Don Airey
(keyboards). Jeff Miers personally described the current line0up stating “Morse brought a funkiness, a depth as guitarist writer, and
unparalleled fluidity and startling aptitude and an arsenal of influences – country, folk, jazz, what they’ve sadly labelled “fusion”, and
an inherent understanding of blues-based riffs – that meshed effortlessly with the immaculate Glover-paice sense of swing and
Gillian’s seeming capacity to go anywhere at any time, full-throated and eyes ablaze…

The breakthrough for Deep Purple came in 1968 with the release of their debut album "Shades of Deep Purple". From 1968 until
today they are considered one of the hardest touring bands in the world. The bands current line-up boasts a vast wealth of
experience: Don Airey has been a player on the rock scene for over 25 years, notching up almost 200 album credits and
associations with 20 or more major bands including Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Jethro Tull and ELO; Ian Gillan joined the band in
1969 with his great vocal impact, notably the band's anthem "Smoke On The Water" which emphasised his ability to deliver a lyric
with smouldering intensity and rock'n'roll exuberance; Roger Glover, the bass player and composer also joined the group in
1969; Steve Morse is a superb guitarist and bandleader in his own right. He was named by readers of Guitar Player magazine as the
"Best Guitarist" for five years in a row. He formed The Steve Morse Band in 1983 and joined Kansas before switching career to
become an airline pilot. Drawn back to music, he joined Deep Purple as lead guitarist in 1994; and lastly, Ian Paice, the drummer
who joined the band (age 19) in 1968. Armed with a dazzlingly fast technique, he also has worked with Garry Moore and Whitesnake.
A highlight was guesting on Sir Paul McCartney's "Run Devil Run" album.

Deep Purple live in concert is an experience to be reckoned with. They truly are the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock and set
to rock Australia in April/May 2010.
